Ah sorry Alias I thought it was close but couldnt remember the exact time - thats pretty darned good if you been working mornings and lates though!!
Oooo everyone - even more reason to get onto Parkruns - they do profiles for each runner onw even if you run across different events:
http://www.parkrun.org.uk/AthleteResultsHistory.aspx?AthleteNumber=25570
That shows I was in very good shape in March and April and then shows the effect of having so much time off (29:34 ) and that I am now getting back into it!!
Brilliant - thats the one feature that the site was desperately in need of - very impressed!:D

Hi Guys, I'm back! 2 1/2 weeks in Scotland, knackering! Fixing boats and dealing with Earthwatch volunteers from US and Germany - some of them you wonder why they come!
Only managed 3 runs in that time, very hilly though, and no gym. Hit the gym on Tuesday and boy I'm in agony, my legs are killing me! Upper body not so bad, but that must be because of the lifting and boat repairing work, must have kept my arms and back going.
So, back to a daily regime, still aiming for that 10K first weekend of October in Inverness. I happily do 4+ miles a day, can anyone point me to a good plan to raise my gaim to 10K in the next 7 weeks? I'm sure I am strong enough, but I think a good plan would be helpful.
Can't possibly read all to catch up here, but I'm sure everyone is going great guns, - keep up the good work and I'm back following from here in.0 -
Hey BJ hope you had a great time on your trip!!!
I'll have a think about a good plan for you...

and were up..
Damn dog was barking at someone going down the alley, so had to get up to see who was down there, so may well drag myself out of bed. Seem to remember getting to sleep about 06-10am as it started to get pretty much light.
Next thursday / friday ill be leaving the house at 05:00 hrs to drive to work.
Ive been on days / nights for the past 8 years, so kinda use to it all by now.
No running for day, nice 1/2 marathon distance tomorrow night before another weekend on the beer.

Hi everyone
After my lovely lunch yesterday  I was determined to get my evening run sorted, so as soon as I got home I changed into running gear, pickedup my Argos reservation number, Garmin, cash and keys and headed out the door.
Managed to do my 5 miles in 42.21 (no inhaler either!) AND I managed to get to Argos before they closed at 7.30pm :T
Hills tonight and I'm seriously considering (finally) doing a Parkrun on Saturday morning even though Sunday is long run day. We will see.The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Not had time to catch up on posts, will read through tonight just had to come on and post
16miles (10.54/mile) longest run to date :-) quick question, have few blisters on feet now- should I pop them or leave them be?(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -
Poorbabe - Thats a pretty swift pace for your shopping trip last night. There should be a few of us at Wimbledon on Saturday, so get down there - its the perfect preparation for a long run.

tq - Congratulations, you know you're getting somewhere when you can run for 3 hours without needing an ambulance.
As for the blisters, I'd get them popped and let them dry out, but more importantly try and investigate what caused them - are your shoes rubbing too much? If so, gets some compeed on the affected areas for your next run. Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

tq Compeed is your friend.
Ukevas - You wanna bet? Saturday is my 'feeling totally knackered' day but I'll need to head off shortly afterward to do my food shopping so that might, possibly, inspire me to be second to last across the finish line - plus I'll ride my bike there and back.
Actually, I could well be last cross the line :rotfl:
A_O That "weekend on the beer" should be rewritten to say "rehydrating and protein/carb-loading"
