I'm gonna aim for a 1/2 next year i think, don't wanna risk a whole one when i'm still carrying 7-8 extra stone round.

Yeah sure - I'll revise your current one if you want - have to do it home as its on my laptop, but just let me know what you want to do per week/days etc and we'll take it from there
Got any particular half in mind - me and Rich are talking about Blackpool on April 11th I think:

I did the half this year and although the course is changing - its one of my favourite races to date0 -
oooo i forgot about Blackpool, i was thinking of the Wilmslow 1/2, which is always sometime in May, but Blackpool could be good too? Would it be wrong to do 2 halfs? lol.
I figure it gives me 10 months to get a serious improvement made! Plus the manchester 10k is going to be ballot entry from now on:mad: So my nice May event might not let me in

Well you could try out Blackpool as a step on the way, but train for Wimslow - it'll give you a good idea of what work you'll still need to do
Blackpool was great last year but it was sunny - chances of that happening twice is slim...I may be doing the marathon rather than half as I havent entered the ballot for London so am only getting into that if I run a 1:30 half this year :eek:0 -

Hope you all did well in the London M, my son's wedding went well which made me miss it, but my freindly chairty has given me a place for 2010 so help guys, as I'm still a very quick walker and need a plan.

Hi HWGA nice to see you back
No worries - running comes on its own and now you have motivation of an LM place
Okay so you have 10 months to get fit - it is possible I started in June last year and ran FLM in April this year, however, it might be tough - there's no way around this 26 miles is a long way to run, before we can do a plan you'll need to be realistic about how much time you have to train - that should inform what time you'd like to do - we can then draw you a plan to get you running up to 10k and once you get there we can ramp up to marathon over 6-8 months
I would think you will need to start with 3-4 days a week - more if you can - of very short runs with a long walk tagged on the end - say map out 4 miles and run what you can very slowly and walk the rest - then let us know how far you are getting after 4 weeks or so and we'll do you a 10k plan
If you can get to running the whole 4 miles by then that will be a good start but dont pressurise yourself too much and dont worry about times0 -

That's just scary!!! you can run double the distance in less time than i can do a 10k lol. Really must pull my finger out, plus i've got tickets for pink on halloween, and by the time it rolls round i'd love to look a little more pink-esque rather than the dawn french look i've got going on at the mo lol
not that dawn drench isn't wonderful!!!!Debt@LBM1=£4050 1st DFD 27/08/09Debt @LBM2 =£14,469.97 2nd DFD 14/03/2018 :T
