Morning everyone.
I don't think I can manage to go for a run this week.
Yesterday was training, today cinema with bf,Wednesday beach vb,Thursday badminton, Friday maybe, if I have time between finishing work and seeing friends. Not sure I should do a run on Saturday if I go to vb competition on Sunday? Don't think I'm quite that fit yet.
Should make it known I'm not very good in the mornings so run before work is unlikely to happen.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

HAHAHA no - but I'm in Leeds visiting Rich (my OH) so we're going to pop over on the M62
Hey are you nearby to Manchester (sorry Geography not my strong point)?? I'm only planning on jogging it - not ready for racing yet so if you want to pop over and have a buddy...

I'm sort of nearby, i'm in Wilmslow (just south of manchester). I'd love a buddy, but i'm on diabetic dog duty this weekend
parents are away touring france so i'm pup sitting, and Millie's getting on a bit, only 3 different eyedrops 6 times a day, insulin twice a day, tablets for hr kidney problems ..... oh the list goes on forever lol. But if you decide to make Heaton Park a regular thing i'd be happy to join

Got out running last night and a very good night for it too!!
I did 3.7 miles in 34.10mins which I am very chuffed about. There are 4 gradual step hills then 3 descending hills but running outside allows me to slow and speed when I feel the need to!!
Hopefully do another 1-2 3.7 milers this week with a 4.5 miler at the weekend!!
Not far away now from my 10k distance!!
The run is not until September anyway so hopefully will be ok for that!!0 -
I would say Heaton Park will become a regular-ish event - with Leeds and Wimbledon being the standard runs but I can imagine Manchester being once every 4-6 weeks if its a decent course!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Good running E.C.
And yes we'll see what the course is like and let you know - I suspect Rich will do it more often than me but I fancy another one to mix it up a bit - Leeds is hilly and Wimbledon is trail so its nice to have a semi flat road one0 -
Well I havent been on a run since friday due to my 'niggle' its like a dull ache halfway between my calf muscle and ankle that seems to ease of once it warms up so I might just try a gently run today and see how it goes. Besides it was a thunderstorm yesterday and I'm not that hardcore yet :P:staradmin5k - 00:27:46:staradmin 10k - 00:57.03:staradminHalf - 02:01:15:staradmin5M - 00:44:07:staradmin0

Good stuff, EC.
That speed is improving but try and resist the urge to speed up too much at this stage - the prime focus is to get the regularity and the distance up, speed isn't a factor (although it will be later).
Those hills will help your development thats for sure, but again its just the act of getting up them at this stage..try to resist the urge to attack them even if you're feeling good.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
