Well done on getting out E.C. - sounds like you having an adaption week (hence the heavy legs) so if you need to slack off a bit on distance over the weekend then thats fine - the improvment will come shortly after the heaviness lifts :D

I'm having a rest day today, a very slow 10k early tomorrow and I am hedging my bets on 2:05 on Sunday I think which would put me at 9:30 minute miling or there abouts - if that goes well I'll push for 9:15 in Fleetwood and try to scrape under the 2 hour mark and then by Royal Parks in October I'll be looking for a nice pb from just under 9 minute/miling :D

EC - Dont worry about prolonged heaviness after a big effort. It is always GOOD news because the super compensation in the repair process will make you a little bit stronger than before whatever effort caused the stiffness.

Becky - When did you become so sensible?:p

Interesting to see that Seb Coe only lives a few minutes walk from the Wimbledon parkrun and has sent a message to Paul Sinton-Hewitt to keep up the good work BUT as of yet hasnt taken him up on his offer to pop along one Saturday morning.

It would be fascinating if he did turn up to see just what shape he is now in...I suspect he would still be sub 18:00!

It is, however, frightening to think that the last time I took part in the same event as him was at Cleckheaton in 1979! Omg that was 30 years ago!

Wow it really would be interesting...

Hmm Mcmillian says for my 26:19 time that I should be looking at 2:01 for a 1/2 and currently my interval times are faster than it suggests hmmmmm we shall see on Sunday!

Thats because your 26:19 is not a true reflection of your current 5K time...you need a flat road 5K for that!:D

    Good luck for Sunday :)

On the sensible front.. I've not been doing much running, been out for a couple of short ones but my achilles is still not right. Doing the recommended exercises and taking it very carefully. Ho hum
