How are you feeling today (legs especially)? And how does the weekly milage and "long run" distance you were planning to do compare to what you did last week (in % terms)?

My legs are feeling fine now, did the run about 10am this morning and once the run was over I was feeling fine again.
This is the first week I am clocking mileage as I am new to running (this is week 7 for me) prior to this week I was doing run/walk using the couch 2 5k podcast and had got up to a 25min run which I think was about 2 1/4m but not really sure tbh. (I don't know if that lot helps at all!:o)

It's a bit difficult to compare then. I would say head out and see how you go. Nice and slow. If you think you are doing a lot further this week and in your long run, don't be afraid to cut the run short if you feel you need to, though.

Krider - if you're making blackberry and apple crumble please send some my way ;)

Well since you mention it... I've already processed the apples from the garden and frozen them, and now portioned up some blackberries and frozen them. Plan is crumbles and pies when it gets a bit colder so I'll be sure to send some then! Also made some jam with the rest to go with the damson jam from the garden. Mmm sugar carbs! :D

Todays run wasn't bad. Another 6 miles (was going to be 5.8 but I did another minor loop as I felt in the groove) in 57:25 (9:33/mile). Pleased with that.

Total for the week = 18.55 miles

LSR planned for Saturday morning. The aim is to do half distance again, then again on 5th September weekend.

Colleague at work has decided to enter a 10k for motivation to run (he's otherwise not that bothered). So he chooses a 10k that costs £20  and they also expect you to raise money for charity as well. And I don't think it's chip timed for that money either. All for motivation to run and not out of a desire to do something for the charity... He's a nice chap but this is just silly IMHO. Apparently the fundraising page they give you auto defaults the target to £1k too (though he was at least canny enough to edit it lower and it let him)!

Some good running Simply, 1Hannah, Becky, tq, and probably others I've forgotten so apols to you if I have.

Evening, a quick post from me as absolutely shattered from my run today and legs about to give in, I had to do my LSR today as dh is away for the weekend and although my parents would have the kids at the weekend if there were any problems it would be another big run missed. My run today was veeeeeeeeeeeery slow and painful from miles 10 - 13!

    Thur 20/8 13 miles 2:34:53 (a shocking 11:54/mile):o

I had a rubbish run tonight. Just felt like I had no energy. I did 8 miles on Sunday but I struggled to do 5K this evening. My legs (calves) felt very heavy and achey and so did my arms. Left the gym feeling very sorry for myself
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.
