hi Hannah
Well done on the run!
As someone who has always been on the heavy side I am very impressed with your target and your progress.
be warned this running lark is addictive and you will also get forum anxiety if you dont check in here once a day as things move on quick!
just completed my long run.......i cant believe how good it was.......
i managed to complete half marathon distance in 2:09.15
:j
i was a little tough in the last couple of kms but not that bad, and i never felt i was gonna stop.
considering I was aiming for 2.15 for the race next month and it was in the middle of the day and bloody hot i really couldnt wish for more.
off for a bath now as i smell .....a lot!
ps.... i was listening to kaiser chiefs on shuffle, but it was too fiddly to get phone out to change to something else.....i love em but 2hrs is too much!Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

Well, that went better than expected. I groaned a little when the alarm went off this morning but a double espresso later and I was out of the door. My legs didn't feel as tired as I had expected but I was still surprised when I downloaded my data to find my pace was slightly faster than last week's fartlek session.
Lots of good running has been reported today: - Well done on the runs 1HANNAH and Mascott :T
Hope that leg is improving rupe
Becky - you just get faster and faster in these sessions, no wonder you like them so much.Isn't Rich just the master of understatement? 'Not too shabby' :rotfl::rotfl:

Just wanted to say Krider this shows a great attitude that will definitely help you improve - sometimes you have to accept the rubbish runs and move on
Hope the week gets better running wise!
Thanks Becky - I surprised myself with how I dealt with it. First time I've accepted it like that and it paid off both with enjoying yesterday, and then again today as I did 6.35 miles today in 1:00:05 (9:27/mile)Started out slower with the intention of speeding up mid-run, then tailing off again but did not need to slow down too much to feel comfortable again which was good.
Total for the week = 12.55 miles
Great running 1Hannah, and brilliant time mascott - I'll be happy to get a time like that in my real half in September! Really picking the pace up now Becky - amazing after coming back from a good few weeks out.
Ouch rupe
Simply and rich - good running as usual :cool:0 -
Good lord, I might have to step in here more often to keep up with all the good things happening.
Evening everyone. Well I managed to tear myself away from the athletics and did my Tuesday night club speedwork. I really must bring my timer with me as I have no idea how I'm doing generally. I did need my inhaler at the end, so maybe I was working harder :rotfl::rotfl:
Tomorrow's a rest day then hills on Thursday and a 5 mile tempo run on Friday.
Keep up the good work everyone. You all realise that we are Usain's inspiration don't you :rotfl::rotfl::D:D:rotfl::rotfl:The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Hi all, went out tonight to meet with running friends. We did a looping back run tonight, where we run on, then loop back behind the slowest runner then run on again. It was a bit of a faff really. I prefer it when we just go out and back and all re-group as we finish, but it made a change. Anyway, I have got Saturday's rubbish run out of my system. I did 5.5 miles in just over 50 mins so I'm happy with that. I don't know about the rest of you, but if I have a bad run, I obsess about it and convince myself that I can't run, so as I have been feeling better today I thought it best just to get out there and have a go. What do you know, I can still run!
Mascott - what a great run today! You must be feeling really confident now after doing your full race distance in a good time like that.
Becky - another good session there. You really love them now don't you. Remember way back, when you really hated your speed sessions? What a difference. They are really hard, but definitely worthwhile.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Wow, that blew the cobwebs away!:D:D
Considering that this was run on a tough course, which is worth 20 secs/mile, that was worth 6:54/mile or about a 1:30:00 flat half marathon....and it felt strong all the way with the last 5.9 miles taking exactly 40:00 (6:46/mile).
So I'm a happy little bunny, maybe this is all going to come together nicely ready for Fleetwood? Fingers crossed!!:D:D
It seems like everyone is enjoying themselves at the moment - Krider, Mascott, Simply, Becky, Chickadee, UK, Poorbabe, Hannah, EC...and I'm sure there are others as well. I dont think we've quite had so many people all coming to form and enjoying themselves at the same time before. Wow, that's some going Rich. Did you intend to push it or did you just feel like it when you got out of the door? Whatever it was, it is looking good for Fleetwood. I suppose the important thing for you now is to stay injury-free, so be careful and don't push it too much.
By the way, I didn't think your HR ever got over 100!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

It wasnt intended to be much more than a 'let it roll' type run and obviously the first couple of miles is just getting into it.
But, as Becky will confirm, this is a very tough course and you cant cheat it...so when the first 10K (including the warm up) was about 47 minutes and feeling strong I just pushed on....and the final 5.9 was done at an equivalent of 42:02 for 10K. The course is tougher than the Pennine 10K to give you an idea so that all bodes well for the upcoming '3 week flat as a pancake race series' of 1/2 marathon, 10K, marathon. Cant wait!:D:D
Yeah, you're right...I think my pulse might be broken. Three figures? That cant be right, surely!;)

Ahem, yes but the other team did have their goalkeeper sent off......
In those circumstances anything less than 7-1 would have been failing to take advantage.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
