:jHiya SW - I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were getting on, well done on marathon and _pale_ to getting run over! I hope you are taking it easy x
Well done Becky on your interval times, your fitness is getting right back up, would you mind sharing your intervals programme with me as I'm going to attempt them again on Thursday, properly this time!
Well done on getting out there Squizz, 6am is the middle of the night for me!0 -
SW - that does sound nasty! Its also a scenario that I'm sure most drivers have come close to on the odd occassion while trying to get back into a car that has started moving under its own free will.
It could obviously have been worse but nonetheless those sound like pretty serious injuries so to be running at all again as soon as 10 weeks sounds very encouraging.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Evab I run a rolling 4 week program...
3 miles broken down into mile reps, 800m reps, 400m reps or 200m reps...
With a minutes rest between each rep and a mileish warm-up and warm down...
So starting week 1 with mile reps you run 3 and you take a minutes rest between each (although not after the last one - made that mistake once and ouch the pain on warm down)
Week 2 - 800m you run 6, Week 3 - 400m you run 12, Week 4 - 200m you run 24 () - every one has a minutes rest...
So every time its 3 miles with breaks in - thats how I think about it anyway!
Then you start again0 -
thanks becky, sorry nipped to the shops just then!0

evab - dont push the intervals until you've got the routine going over several weeks. Think of running them at normal pace just to get the mechanics sorted out in your mind first.
They are a dangerous method of training - in fact it is probably fair to say that you get injured pretty much every time you do them, its just a question of how severelyGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I always leave my car in gear as well as putting the handbrake on, just to stop it rolling off if the handbrake fails.
Mind you, the danger then is that your wife gets in, starts the engine and the car lurches forwards (not that she's hit anythign that way yet)!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

That's where I'm going wrong, obviously*
*disclaimer: my wife is a very good driver. She should check to see a car is in neutral before starting the engine though, it's in the driving test!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0
