Well done Red - BT is really nice actually no need to be afraid! ;)

Dont worry Chick - we all go through phases like that - remember I did hardly any speedwork during LM build up because I just couldnt get my head round it - it just sort of clicked this time...

    Ooooo under 8 mins/mile - didnt realise that!!! :D:D

Was strange because I was able to zone out while doing them for the first time ever - then kept having to zone in the remember to stop my watch - if I hadnt been so sleepy then i might have pushed a bit harder and got them a bit faster but its all good for next time!
  • Out this morning and it has got a lot colder !!!

Done my 7.5 miler in 1:08 and I was trying to go slower than the last time !!!

My 10k is tomorrow night so looking forward to it now hopefully will be sub 55mins thats my aim!!

    RULE 21 ASSISTANCE
    (1) The following shall be interpreted as assistance
    (a) Pacing by persons not participating in a race, unless assisting a
    blind or partially sighted runner.
    (b) Receiving advice or similar assistance during an event from an
individual located within the competition area.
    (c) The use of any technical device.
Athletes receiving assistance as defined above are liable to be disqualified.
    (2) The following shall not be interpreted as assistance:
    (a) Communication during an event between athletes, and other
persons not within the competition area.
    (b) A medical examination during the progress of an event by medical
personnel solely to determine whether an athlete is fit enough to
    continue in the competition.
    (c) The use of heart monitors in races in excess of 10000m.
Can you imagine if a particular race organiser took it upon himself to enforce the rule as worded?
Not only would all the Ipod wearers be disqualified but all the Garmin wearers would likely be lined up against a wall and shot.:rotfl:
Oh, hold on, I suppose a £6 Argos stopwatch is also a technical device. In which case.......shhhhhhhh :o:o

Well done on getting out red. Rich is right, I'm a teddy bear really, but glad my potential "wrath" motivated you!

Great intervals becky and some nice runs all round.

No run for me today, had a 1 hour 5-a-side game last night and have another 40 minute one this lunchtime. Back to running tomorrow if the legs aren't too heavy. I swear it's a good fartlek session!

Noo.. pretend to be scary :rotfl:

Was just about to ask what other (if any) exercise people do? I walk a lot and do a little bit of Pilates but otherwise nothing. Did do Laserquest on a work night out recently though and that was a great workout :rotfl:

Same here Red - pretty much the only other exercise is walking but Becky and I will often end up with 6-8 mile walks discovering the 'off the beaten track' parts of London when we only intended to nip out for a short while.....we just get carried away sometimes, well all the time actually!:D:D:D

I walk up to 6 miles a day as well running but I dont do much else because I dont have time - I do miss my footie but the injury risk was too high to keep it going (broken finger anyone ;))

Shhh dont tell them about our London knowledge we'll get aksed to tour guide :p

OK. Picture me in army uniform with hands on hips:

GET MOVING, RED. YOU CALL THAT RUNNING? I KNOW YOU CAN GO TWICE AS FAR! PUT SOME EFFORT IN!

Idio and I both do a fair bit of 5-a-side footie. I used to do quite a lot of tennis and a bit of squash and badminton as well, but all my partners seem to have moved away! I do walk a lot as well, for up to an hour at lunch plus walking to train stations either end of my journey rather than getting the bus/tube (adds around another hour+ in total)
