:eek::eek: not that I started all of that at all :o:o:o

*has guessed Becky's name on Runners World forum* :rotfl:

Hi all, just popped in to say hello and to ask for a bit of a running kick up the *rse - it's all been going really well but had a dodgy achilles for a few weeks and had to rest :( Am back out running again but been struggling the last couple of weeks with motivation - for anything really, not just running.. a couple of months ago I was up at 6am running before work, recently I'm lucky if I can drag myself out by 8 and then no time to run in the morning.. so have to do it later when I'm more tired... think I need reminded of the fact it does actually make me feel better :o So feel free to give me a quick slap :o

Gorgeous photos Chick - congratulations xx

Yeah well its pretty obvious when you think about it - quite a few of us on there actually...*mentions no names, nudge nudge wink wink* :p

Any ideas what's causing the lack of motivation?? Maybe take another week off and wait until you are really itching to go - you know what they say about absence :D

A bit wary about getting injured again.. but tiredness mainly I think - don't know what's causing that though. I'm eating really well at the moment.. only thing I can think is that work is really getting me down as it swings between annoying and deadly boring  Maybe the arrival of my new trainers will spur me into action!

Hmmmm any way you can sleep more (go to bed earlier?)? I need around 9+ hours a night when training properly because the body needs to recover from the running abuse you give it!!!

I can try - tend to be a bit of an insomniac, especially waking up in the middle of the night/ really early morning and then being dozy when it's time to get up. Sleep better when I'm running lots though, but don't feel like running when I'm sleepy.. vicious circle eh? Maybe I should just set the alarm and get on with it :o

Hey redsquizzer. You need to get yourself entered in a race, to give you something to work towards! Now GET OUT OF YOUR SEAT AND DO SOME RUNNING!

    (and welcome back).

    Thanks :p

I actually am entered for the Great Yorkshire Run in Sept - which is why I'm starting to panic about being lazy! Had to miss the last couple of races I entered cos of my stupid achilles so really want to do this.. just need to find some energy from somewhere.

Okay so you've got 4 weeks till then where you can train consistently - take today as a rest day, then start afresh tomorrow - its a 10k - you know you can run them well so what you want to do is tick over until the race and make sure the achilles isnt agreviated...

Then you can have fun doing the race and find osmething else to push for a pb on next time!

Rich can you post the link to that info on achilles injuries - re: treatments and avoiding it in future :D

You've got to break the cycle by just getting out there. I sometimes feel tired when my alarm goes off in the early hours, but once I'm up and running I feel fine and I don't feel tired after. And as you know, you will sleep better at night!

    JUST DO IT, RED! :D
