Hey, UK, how does it make you feel to know a 70 year old was 26 places ahead?

That is not to take anything away from your performance but when that happens to me I think its great because if I'm happy with my performance then I cant be anything but incredibly impressed by someone of that age outperforming me.

And it just shows how long you've got at this game - its not like football where a good 10-15 years and then you're knackered.

    Hey everyone.

Well OH did a half-marathon today in St ALbans - it was v warm, and hilly (apparently - I was at the finish line:D) - and our two eldest rugrats did the 1.5mile fun run - vv proud of the pair of them - and interestingly after your debate about competitiveness etc this week - you should have seen me jump about when our 9 year old finished in about 11 minutes.;)

Anyway - they inspired me quite a bit, so this afternoon I ran 5k FOR THE FIRST TIME. I was in the gymn - so was putting the treadmill at varying inclines - but quite frankly I wouldn't care if I had been running up and down the kitchen. :D
Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

    Interesting!!!

And in 1995 his sequence almost came to an end when he had keyhole surgery on his knee 22 days before London......but 'hobbled' round in 3:26:42!!

So 1:34:47 today probably not out of the ordinary for him - his WAVA was 85.33% because, believe it or not, the world record for his age group is actually 1:20:53!

Well done, Rupe, and sounds like you have a competitive family there!:D

Jeez, I was thinking that 1984 London you mentioned was aeons ago in the dark ages....and then realised that I did 1985 and 1986.....and yet I'm still a spring chicken now, how does that work?:p:p:p
