Hey, UK, how does it make you feel to know a 70 year old was 26 places ahead?
That is not to take anything away from your performance but when that happens to me I think its great because if I'm happy with my performance then I cant be anything but incredibly impressed by someone of that age outperforming me.
And it just shows how long you've got at this game - its not like football where a good 10-15 years and then you're knackered.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Hey everyone.
Well OH did a half-marathon today in St ALbans - it was v warm, and hilly (apparently - I was at the finish line:D) - and our two eldest rugrats did the 1.5mile fun run - vv proud of the pair of them - and interestingly after your debate about competitiveness etc this week - you should have seen me jump about when our 9 year old finished in about 11 minutes.;)
Anyway - they inspired me quite a bit, so this afternoon I ran 5k FOR THE FIRST TIME. I was in the gymn - so was putting the treadmill at varying inclines - but quite frankly I wouldn't care if I had been running up and down the kitchen.Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Very well done Rupe...
But rich search for that 70+ name..
he has done 28 London marathons in a row... I think i will allow him to beat me.. ( what a guy ) fastest in 2h 31m when he was a spring chicking back in 1984...Kudos to him indeedCabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -

Interesting!!!
And in 1995 his sequence almost came to an end when he had keyhole surgery on his knee 22 days before London......but 'hobbled' round in 3:26:42!!
So 1:34:47 today probably not out of the ordinary for him - his WAVA was 85.33% because, believe it or not, the world record for his age group is actually 1:20:53!
Well done, Rupe, and sounds like you have a competitive family there!:D
Jeez, I was thinking that 1984 London you mentioned was aeons ago in the dark ages....and then realised that I did 1985 and 1986.....and yet I'm still a spring chicken now, how does that work?:p:p:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
