Well yeah..... it was in London :p...

The most unfriendly people in London are always the visitors ;)

Same with the marathon - a load of people down for the weekend ;)

Is there something genetically inbuilt that makes it impossible for you ladies to run past a camera without smiling (obviously the last one of Becky was the exception to the rule!):

Just look at the men grafting, concentrating on the job in hand, and the ladies are more interested in looking good on t'internet!:p:p

When I first started running (or jogging very slowly!) I always listened to music but after learning at my first race that it was not allowed (and struggling round the course) I have stopped listening to any music when training as well. Seems more and more races are banning ipods etc.
Hoping for week total of about 32miles this week- anyone have any tips for cramp? woke with it in night and niggled all though run today and still tender now?

tq - I was having the same problem last week - all sorted now :D

Its usually one of two things - not enough water/salt - in which case it should disappear after a day or so

Or adjustment to new mileage - usually takes two days to disappear and may come back during long runs (i.e. when your muscles are tired!)...is it in the base of your foot by any chance?

cramp in my calf? Should I be ok to keep running on it- as long as not too painful- was hoping for a good week mileage wise? - I must try and drink more water- tend to only drink at mealtimes!
Just found out there are still spaces for a local 1/2 about a month before I run marathon- should I sign up?

Sounds good to me (but then I am doing two halfs in two weeks :p), treat it like a training run and have some fun - you'll be fine :D

Not sure about the calf - sounds like it might be water/salt related - try drinking a bit more for a few days and see if it helps :D

There are 4 parkruns in London every Saturday - why would anyone pay £10 for a 5k in Clapham!!

And another ruddy charity doing women only events:

The charity feeding frenzy will result in one of two things:

    a) It will cannibalise itself, and the signs are starting to show that this may be occurring, and start to disappear.

    b) It will destroy the sport of road running per se, and a new model will be re-born where charities are not involved, leaving the charities to look elsewhere.

Because the trend of the last few years of increasing charity stranglehold is speeding up at an alarming rate then so is the groundswell of anger amongst the running fraternity.....a sure sign that something is going to erupt in the imminent future.
