  • Morning,

Some really good running ober the weekend well done to all that got out.
Becks sorry to hear that your not feeling too well, hopefully it will clear up soon for you.

Got out yesterday for a training run, 8.5 miles in 1.28 a slow run but no problems with the legs which is great as a few months ago 8 miles would have left me with heavy legs for most of the week.

Only 48 days till my first marathon

I've decided not to do hills today but to do 3 or 4 as legs still very achy so need to stretch them a bit. I'm going to start doing times now as I want to start making improvements but won't go silly and speed off every time. Hills tomorrow then need to look at my plan for the rest of the week. My parents are having the kids for a couple of hours on Saturday so I can fit in another long run whilst dh is away.

Very pleased to add up that I did 29 miles altogether last week.

Interesting to see Jenson Button's effort in the London Traithlon yesterday just to see how fit F1 drivers are....he did the run in 38:21 which equates to a 40:32 10K (the run is actually 9.4K for some reason).

So not a bad standard at all after already having done the swim and bike ride!

  • Off to the gym this afternoon, hopeing to do the bleep test again. I dont think that i will have any problems this time due to the training that iv been doing, it just always makes me nervous doing it due to me failing it so many times in the past. i cannot see it defeating me this time as its only 1600m in 10 mins obviously stqarting slow and getting faster towards the end but i know that i can maintain a good speed after doing the long runs.

Id be more than happy with a 40.32 10km like jenson even without doing the swim and cycle. I guess i need to be training a little bit more before i put my cv in for F1 driver:rotfl:

KYCU - I've sent your plan I hope you find it okay - feel free to amend it to your means :D
  • Hey Becky - good to hear you're on the up. What a bummer about the mis-posting of the distance sign!!! Still, you did the right thing hun.

Anyway, I'm not varying my time/distance much, but I've noticed my average heart rate has dropped from being about 154 to 138 over my 4 to 4.5 miles. What does that mean? Am I going to die soon then?! ha ha! (feels like it some days!)

The mile marker scenario is always something to be aware of....it can often be because they're put out the night before or early in the morning and therefore need to be tied to something secure. Its not always that easy to find somewhere appropriate to secure them.

The mile 2 marker was late yesterday but because it was a flat course and you were running at constant pace it stuck out a bit. By mile 3 it was all back in synch so no worries.:D

You should live a little longer yet.:D Your blood pump is getting a good bit more efficient....!!!
