RIP Bobby Robson
Still, a fairly good innings after his long struggle with cancer.
I'm just checking in. Nothing much to report. Liking the new job so far, but very busy already. Still doing my 4-7 milers in the mornings, that's all I have time for at the moment, I'm afraid.
Welcome to all the newbies!
Evab, good luck you nutter!
Great progress everyone and good advice as always. I'll try to check in again soon.
P.S. I'm not a super toned athlete either, still technically overweight (75KG at 173cm) . Mind you, even in my sporty late teenage years with no fat on me I weighed around 73KG, so I doubt I'll get much lighter!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

This huge guy recently came up to me and said:
"I think you're fatist"
I looked him up and down and said:
"No, I think your fattest".

BTW rich, can you remind us of the formula for "scaling up/down" your times for various distances? e.g. I guess I'm fairly close to the best times in my signature, so what times could I expect over 1/2 marathon or marathon distance?Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0

Add 15-20secs/mile per distance.
So about 1:46 half, but about 3:50-3:55 marathon as there is a bit of an unknown extra allowance needed when converting a half to a full for times over 3 hours.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

thanks rich. so the speed should be there for a sub 4 hour marathon when I finally get round to tackling one i.e. have the time to train for one! that's a good motivation and a good target for me then...Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0
