Thanks for all the nutrition info. I've joined a gym with my daughter and I haven't been out for a proper run in awhile (I'm banned from getting up early). I try and maintain a speed of 7.6 cross country for 30 minutes and I fast walk about 3.5 miles. I ache to get out early and do a run. There is a nice atmosphere first thing in the morning and you can't beat running outside.

Way to go Krider - we're right behind you, watching your every move and hoping to emulate then! ha ha! Good food and exercise is the way to go!

Ran again this evening, so enjoyed it, just kept going! Didn't walk at all, and was faster than ever- although, still slooooowwwww, but did just over 4 miles and averaged 11.2 pace, I could actually have kept going! I'm happy!

Funny thing was, this mans boxer dog started running with me, the owner couldn't keep up, but I wasn't going to stop for a dog! Anyway, the dog and unwilling owner followed me all the way home!!! Hilarious!

Had a nice run tonight around a forest, looking for orange and white triangles, some of them hidden in ditches, and in bramble bushes.

Managed to mess one up, wrong one but hey ho..

Legs pretty sore, x-country running is harsh on the legs..

Alias - if you want some x country friends - check out Missy on the exercise thread in the arms - shes a nutter for it :p (the calorie burn is massive though even though you never get up to full speed :D)

Wow well done B.J!!! Thats some great running and you made a doggy friend :D

Hi Rachel - glad to hear you're keeping up the fitness even if its not running outside :), getting up to 30 minutes is a huge acheivement :j

Mascott - I hurt one of my tendons earlier in the year - it recovered really well and only aches very occassionally now - its a common injury when you are increasing the distance because as the muscles get tired they rely on the tendons more and that can lead to strains - good luck for Monday!

Nice running Rich :D:D, is that a new low pulse :eek:

I guarantee you'll feel tired after reading this:

A very interesting account. It is a bit long winded but it is by reading as many accounts like this as possible that you learn how to, and how not to, train properly.:D
