:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I've been training a year and I only just got to that point (before I was sick that is, slowly getting back there now)
Slow and steady is the best plan0 -

That's quite an admission! You've been found out (or should I say pwned?)! I used to love my computer games. Sadly I don't have the time these days. It's been about half a year since my PS2 got fired up!
"That All your base r belong to us" is a retro thing from a very old (and badly translated) Japanese computer game, isn't it?Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Well had a much better run tonight - 6.5 miles in 64:27 - started to get tired so decided t walk the 1.5 miles home
Am pretty dehydrated again though...starting on the water now0 -
And think my waking up in the middle of the night thing (I've been waking up at 1am every night the last week for some reason) is to do with adrenaline...
So thats why it get worse when you up your training rapidly (as I have done) because the body isnt adjusted to levels you are producing - hopefully it'll settle in a few weeks0 -
It's been interesting reading the running/diet chat today as it certainly rings true for me. All my previous attempts at running (on the treadie) over the last few years have been in conjunction with trying to lose weight - usually on a low carb/low fat diet of 1000 - 1200 cals a day.
I found I would be ok for 2-3 months then get tired and run down, catch every virus going and have to stop running until I felt well enough to start again - it was a vicious circle. This time I am running because I want to run and I am making sure that I eat a healthy, balanced diet. I'm the same weight now as I was when I started in Feb but am definitely toning up and changing shape. Ideally I'd still like to lose at least a stone but I'm not even going to consider that with Abingdon on the horizon; nutrition is far more important than weight loss.
Good running again tonight Becky; keep drinking!!2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Evening, I am officially a muppet! I read the brilliant info about intervals then proceeded to get too cocky and ran too fast for my first mile, my times were 9:19, 10:27, 11:17 although on the last mile I was crossing roads too I'm still a great big idiot.Well that will teach me, and I promise it will never happen again0

Dont worry evab - it takes a while to get used to the idea of them...I know I cant talk
Usually helps to do the same mile each time as well if you can - makes it easier to regulate the times0
