One of those times he won though he did a 10 mile warm up so he was bound to be a little out from his track 5k
Yeah, he does use the parkruns as part of an interval session usually but all the same the 15:18 was when he set himself up for an announced assault on the course record.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

As another comparison for Wimbledon parkrun:
Medena Knepsel has a Wimbledon parkrun pb of 18:40 in her 8 races.
In 2009 she has run a track 5000 of 17:49 and an earlier pb of 16:51.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

You dont need to train with them - I suppose it depends on character types but the idea of everyone doing the same training seems a bit odd except for steady runs. It mainly happens for juniors, after that you want to be doing your own training that you have decided to do.
To test yourself on the track enter an Open meeting 5000 metres if you fancy it.
Just be prepared to look very slow:p When I ran my pb of 16:16 I was lapped and then some......:oGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Oooo I'm in a stats mood today!:p
2009 women's marathon stats are fascinating:
2009 Top 20 3:10 (17 out of top 20 are veterans)
2009 Top 50 3:24 (36 out of top 50 are veterans)
2009 Top 100 3:36 (73 out of top 100 are veterans)
Fascinating!!!!
It either means that the ladies age for marathon peaking is genuinely in the region of 40.....or that the yoof of today are lazy!:p
Edit: To put this in perspective, in the all-time UK lists for ladies:
All-Time Top 20 2:31 (8 out of top 20 were veterans)
All-Time Top 50 2:36 (14 out of top 50 were veterans)
All-Time Top 100 2:42 (29 out of top 100 were veterans)
So we are looking at a very recent phenomenon in terms of the veteran ladies rising through the rankings. It just looks like there is a vast void of an age group that just hasnt turned up!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Just to clarify, that 2009 list was actually South-East athletes but nonetheless it shows a distinct pattern. The Top 10 is even more stark.....9 out of 10 are veterans.
In the same rankings for men there are 0 veterans in the top 10.
So come on Becky....sort it out!:p:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Good evening one and all :hello:
I had a few hours to kill in London today so took my running shoes and got my gait analysed - it was very strange watching my feet and ankles on the video playback.
I'm not sure if I was proud of the state of my trainers because of the effort that I've put in to get them where they are today or embarrassed because they are so worn and dirty :rotfl::rotfl: The good news is that I am definitely 'neutral' so was able to buy another pair of Nike Air Zoom Vomero +3 - a size bigger than my current ones so hopefully my toes will soon return to normal. Best of all - they were in the sale so I got a bargain!!!
I'm looking forward to trying them out tomorrow morning - happy running everyone.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Reporting in with a 6 mile run at lunchtime today in 58:50 (9:47/mile). Tried to do a slow out then fast back run which sort of worked though hit a head wind in the fourth mile (
in this weather!?) but very very pleased with 9:03 5th mile and 8:56 6th mile.
Total this week = 6 miles.
Enjoy the new shoes tomorrow Simply
I have version 2.0.0 of the garmin software on the Mac bj-sailaway, but I've had no time today to consider upgrades etc. And I forgot to confirm exactly which OS version I'm on but it's 10.5 and I have all the latest updates installed as of last week.0 -
Wow, that's some going krider - you certainly are speedy :T No wonder you are pleased with the pace for your 5th & 6th miles!!!
Headwinds appear from nowhere don't they?? I was running into one for a few miles on Sunday but when I turned round and ran back it had disappeared. It certainly didn't blow me back as I hoped it would2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910
