Really well done Becky, good to read after you've been off for so long.

Good luck with your 5 miles tonight Linda.

I went out for a 4 miler earlier on, felt fine especially since a chose a nice flat route this evening. A slight change to the rest of the weeks schedule as my dh is away with the army this weekend, a rest day tomorrow then 8 miles Friday evening then anything I can fit in really by subtlely dropping hints to my parents to have the kids for an hour on Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks Evab and Rich - its partly down to the heat (or lack of it) - I am rubbish in hot temperatures so it was miles easier today :D

Lets hope it rains on Sunday too :D

Well done on your 4 miler Evab :D

Uk - I'm coming for ya...thats on less than 3 weeks training :p

    Well, Becky and evab...
I'm back and very sweaty from my 5 mile run.
I beat my previous time but only by 2 minutes :(
    ...Linda xx
It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Thats good Linda :D

Remember its not about beating your pb every time you run - some runs are fast some are slow - its about effort levels that matters.

And 2 minutes over 5 miles is a great improvement - dont feel upset feel happy!!!

Great running Rich, Becky and Linda :T

    evab -
will that be your first 8 mile run?

It was a steady 4 miles for me again this morning 00:38:32 (09:37/mile) - my legs felt less tired than yesterday. Have got a hilly run scheduled for tomorrow but might not run my usual 'killer' route - think I'll wait to see how my legs are feeling as I've still got a couple of twinges.

I realised today that it's only 15 weeks to Abingdon so now I've managed to get round 16 miles I'm going to count this as my first week of marathon training. Week 1/15 - Abingdon

    - do you mind if I copy your style for posting runs? I don't want to infringe any patents or copyrights!! :rotfl:

Go ahead he wont mind :D

You're training plan is practically Rich patent too - he did my first one and I've just copied away for everyone else!

Well done on the run - skip the hills if you are feeling tired and just do flat as they work the calf muscles much harder!

Thanks Becky - I didn't think Rich would mind but thought that it was a bit cheeky just to go ahead and do it. ;)

I'm glad you agree about the hills - I've got 8 miles scheduled for Friday and didn't want to put too much strain on my calf tomorrow as I can still feel the occasional twinge.

Isn't it funny how one week you can be feeling great and every run is a breeze and then without warning aches and pains set in and it's hard work

Hi Simply, yes will be my first 8 miler I have a nice route planned. Enjoy your hilly run, even though I did a mainly flat run today there is a hill to get to or from my house - whichever direction I go in! Wales eh, who put the hills here?:D
