A38 Direct Cars - Problems?

A warning to anybody looking to buy a car from Autobahn, they do not seem to be any better from when they were call A38. I bought a Jag from them recently, the sat nav disk was missing which the promised to supply and a piece of the fascia on the bumper, but they never materialised.
More seriously though, the warranty they they provided stipulates that the servicing must be up to date. They sold the car to me at 128k miles, it had missed a service at 120k miles and the warranty was submitted to the RAC by them saying it had done 109k miles... So they owe me a service or the warranty they sold me is void, well certainly for the parts that are under that service schedule.
Their phone number is not connecting now and their website has no cars advertised, I would not be surprised if they are trading under yet another new name, if i get any further info I will post here.
Scumbags like this give the industry a bad name.0 -
Yes stop the payment....they are a complete set of cowboys...I would never trust them or purchase from them again.
as long as we keep the post going and it comes up on Google we can keep people aware..and also if you have had problems REPORT THEM TO TRADING STANDARDS...they will be tracking them.:jMarried on 12.12.12 to the best man alive! - FACT!:j0 -
We've had to remove a number of posts claiming to connect several companies. However, we will have to keep removing them unless there is hard, concrete evidence (which our checks are yet to show).
Unfortunately we have to be able to prove all claims conclusively in order to keep posts up. Posting "what you think" isn't enough.

Guys,
I've removed a number of posts again. I'll reiterate we have to be able to prove your comments to keep them up. I'm sure this must be frustrating if true, but saying "what you know" isn't enough. Please stop making these comments unless you can conclusively prove them; I have to protect the site and will have to stop accounts if this continues.

I too am having problems with ex Autobahn Derby worker "Bob" I bought a car from him about 3 months ago and still waiting for logbook. Called Bob whilst he was still at Autobahn Derby he said he would sort out the logbook but this didnt happen. This number only rings out now. Reading posts on here it appears Autobahn has closed and somebody pointed out he is working at another garage.I called the new garage where he does work now. He said sorry and would post logbook out to me, this has not happened yet again. Im not giving up all hope however do feel I may be loosing battle after reading other posts on here.
I called the garage today and somebody working there state they are getting many calls about Bob and his previous dealings.
Bob supplied me with a HPI report, this states another business on it so I suspect he has multiple business/trading names.
All I want is my logbook !!
Any suggestions ?0 -

Just get on with it. DVLA lose things all the time. I had to apply the last used car I bought and I know the seller posted it off.

Hi everyone,
I have read the name of the alleged new company (I know it has been deleted so I wont repeat it) and I went to their 'showroom' in Nottingham today to look at a car. Something didn't sit right with me, hence I decided to do some thorough research into them before parting with my cash...and my current car! The whole thing struck me as odd...no sign of any company branding on the cars, in the showroom, car park, nothing. Not even a sign to tell you you are in the right place! None of the cars had price tags on either. All very weird. I had a chat with 2 guys who were onsite and they seemed ok, but I couldn't shake the feeling of unease so agreed to return tomorrow for a test drive. Needless to say, I won't be going after the things i've read! Shocking! I hope everyone who has lost out can eventually get some justice! Thanks to everyone for making me aware of this before I made a potentially massive mistake :-)0
