The_Bloodster wrote:After all the help you have given me recently Samara I will be sad to leave Madasafish but commonsense tells me it is worth leaving. I'm currently paying £16.99 for my broadband service but if I switch to Orange who I have a contract phone with it would be free. Not surprisingly I'd like to save myself £17 a month!!
Bloodster, mind if I ask what contract you have. I have a £30 contract with Orange (4 months into a 12 months deal), would I qualify?0 -
Madasafish_Customer_Care wrote:Hello NicolaJH,
You get 1 free connection per each 12 month contract with Madasafish. So if you want to stay with us with a better deal on a new 12 month contract I will ensure that you get 1 free housemove during that time.
Kind Regards,
Samara
I am in a similar situation as NicolaJH, I am on my 11th month of contract and may possibly be moving in the next year, but if I were to stay with madasafish would I have to take a new 12 month contract to get a better deal as I have been looking at other ISPs to see what deals there are. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yes.
You would have to just restart the 12 months with them and you get the choice of the free bb (2meg, with 2gb limit) or £5/month for the 8 meg + unlimited downloads + unlimited free phone calls + free wireless modem.0 -
I'm now experiencing major problems - connection has been dropping out every few minutes for several weeks now - and the last four days I haven't had any connection whotsoever. The DSL light is on but the Internet light isn't. I'm not an expert on home broadband but this seems to me like a problem with the ISP. Tried phoning Madasafish but all I get is the usual "try disconnecting your Sky box, try swapping the microfilters, make sure you're connecting to the master socket" guff. They seem very reluctant to escalate the call to BT. What can I do to get these muppets to actually do their jobs and try and sort this out? I reckon I'll have to do what I did within about a month of signing up with Madasafish when I'd had no connecion whatsoever - ask to cancel and insist on paying nothing until it's sorted.0

Hi Samara,
I was just about to post a comment, detailing my conversion to broadband; saying that the speed was not brilliant but how satisfied I was with the end result BUT the broadband signal had dropped out !
THe symptoms and first aid measures are as follows:
HISTORY: It has been working OK for a month, but for a short term (minutes) drop out a couple of weeks ago. Last used successfully by Mrs Hound at lunchtime of Saturday 10 Feb.
Definately off @ 17:15 on Sunday 11 Feb. Probably OK early Sunday morning as router is mounted over an arch in a dark part of the hall, where its 3 green lights show it is ready for action (power, DSL(phone), internet). The muissing light would have been noticed as it was at 17:15.
SET-UP: Master BT socket in the hall cupboard via filter "1" feeds Voyager 210 router. Router always switched on; feeds, via ethernet cable, a PC that is switched off when not in use. Filter "1" also feeds a Telephone-answering/handset phone. Slave socket in the study, via filter"2" feeds a walk-round-the-house phone and an extension bell mounted outside under the gutter board.
FAULT FINDING: A. Incoming ond outgoing 'phone calls OK.
B. Unplugged filter from slave socket, disconnecting portable phone & external bell.('phone-calls still OK internet still not OK)
C. Unplugged phone/answering machine. (Incoming cdalls still gave ringing tone, internet still missing)
D. Removed master socket face plateand plugged filter "1", with router & answering/phone attached into test socket. (Voyager 210 router flashed its DSL light a few times, then back to working phone calls but still no internet. Tried PC to make absolutely sure -> no ISP connection.)
E. Disconnected answering-machine/phone and left it alone until 01:00 hrs Monday 02 Feb. (still no internet light).Plugged Answering-machine/phone into filter "1"
F. 08:00 Monday Feb 12, plugged filter "2" back into slave socket, thus reconnecting portable phone & external bell.(Phone working in and out)
G: 10:00 received a "silent" call - thought it might be BT phoning to explain but no such luck.
Over to you Samara.
Best wishes,
Harryhound

Just wanted to say thankyou for all your help.
I am glad I decided to spend another 12 months broadband with Madasafish and if the service is the same as you give then no doubt it will be great! :j
If anyone has just finished there 12 month contract with Madasafish and are thinking of moving it would certainly be worth your while asking Samara what the best offer is. Trust me you wont be disappointed! :T
Do I get my free t-shirt now!
Totally agree with the above, I have been with Freenetname / MAAF since 1999 with no problems.
New contract successfully negotiated via Samara.0 -
Hi Guys,
There are so many posts on here from last time I checked, I'll try to address them all in this post!
Fiddiwebb - Thank you very much for taking the time to post the compliment, that made my day!
The_Bloodster - Every broadband provider is different - and you may have a great time with Orange! I wish you the best of luck with whoever you decide to go with. Until then I'm still here to help you with your connection!
Seven - If you agree to a new 12 month contract with us we can get you a better price in exchange for a new 12 month contract and include 1 free housemove in the equation.
Richiethekid - I'm really sorry, I didn't realise that this problem was ongoing. I've had to clear out my PM box since we last PM'd, could you please PM me your username once more and I'll do my best to get this sorted. I apologise that you keep getting asked about microfilters, they are the most common cause of disconnections. We need to go through the basic troubleshooting before we can get BT involved. If we get them involved and it does turn out to be microfilter they will bill the customer directly for the cost of the engineer call out. If the fault is found to be with the connection up to the master socket then BT will cover the cost. We just need to make sure that we cover everything from the master socket beyond before we get BT involved.
Harryhound - I've placed a request for someone from my tech team to call you and I'm adding your post to the notes on the request.
Kind regards,

Thanks Samara,
Someone phoned me about 18:30. All we needed to do was go through the quick start routine on the router and that brought back the internet connection.
Problem solved; another satisfied customer.
I will try and list the learning experience converting to Broadband has been and post it here in the near future.
Kind regards,

How do I go about asking Samara for a new deal? My contract with MAAF expires soon.0 -
