  • Hi Teddyco,

Posts about our phone packages usually get moved over to the phone section - you may find this post removed in the next few days ;)

We have a £1 a month credit card handling fee. You can avoid this charge by paying by bank card or direct debit.

All of our Talk packages include line rental and you will not have to pay BT separately for this. Please note that call override such as 1899 is not available with our Talk packages, as these facilities seem to be popular with MSE forum members I just wanted to make sure that you know that.

Thank you for the link to the article on the BT pricing, that made for an interesting read.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • I know that I'm thinking about leaving MAAF but I think we should remember how nice it's been to have a representative on this forum helping us out and spending much time responding to us publically and privately. There are no other threads represented by other BB providers as far as I'm aware. Let's not forget that.
I quite agree and MSE is very grateful for the calm and patient way that Samara continues to give MSE users help and advice. I have removed a couple of posts from this thread for the abuse team to have a look at.
  • Could you give me some advice. I've come to the end of my 12 month contract with madasfish and I've paid for a month of February. Will madasafish give me a deal which doesn't involve a new 12 month contract as I know that I'm moving in September?

If not, I'm going to have to migrate and I assume since my billing date is towards the end of the month, I've missed giving 28 days notice to end with madasfish at the end of this month so I'm going to have to pay for March. If I were to get my MAC code how long is this valid for as I wouldn't want to give that to my new provider until a week before the end of the month in order not to paying double?

Their retention deals do involve entering into a new 12 month contract with them.

We have established that the contract says you can give the 28 day notice at any time.

So you could give them notice today and ask for a MAC.

Then give the MAC to your new ISP after say 16 days of your notice, which gives them 12 days to complete it.

But won't you be in the same problem when you want to move in September?

If you stay with MAAF you will be able to leave in September without penalty.

    Hello NicolaJH,

You get 1 free connection per each 12 month contract with Madasafish. So if you want to stay with us with a better deal on a new 12 month contract I will ensure that you get 1 free housemove during that time.

A MAC is valid for 30 days and provided that there are no problems with the BT system we usually have them out within 24 hours of a request.

    Kind Regards,
    Samara

  • Hi Bloodster,

We're just reviewing your account - could you please let me know at about what time you set up the new microfilters?

    Cheers,
    Samara

I set them up on Tuesday night!! Yes I will leave my router on!!
  • Is my first invoice date the date my account went live?!! Actually looking back I got an email saying my account went live on the 15th March.

If I was to to terminate my account by giving 28 days notice would this therefore be on the 15th Feb? The last day of the 12 months would be on 14th March.

However I have a few questions on this. If my new service went active on say the 12th March what would happen? Also if it went over and I switched on 16th March what would happen?
  • Hi Bloodster,

I'm a bit rushed today, sorry for the hasty post here:

    (i) You can give your 28 days notice at any time, however to avoid the early termination fee you must do so on or after your 12th invoice date.

(ii) It takes approximately 7 days for a migration to complete. I generally advise customers to give themselves 10 days to migrate. To maximise your time with us I would recommend submitting your MAC to your new provider 18 days into your notice period. If you do not migrate away prior to your next invoice date, and you have not specifically requested that we cease your line, then your service will still be live and we will continue billing you. If your migration occurs after the next invoice date you will be billed for the entire month.

(iii) After you've paid the 12th invoice there is no early termination charge.

I've had a look at your account and if you were interested in leaving our services my best advice would be to put in your notice on 16th Feb and request for MAC at that time. Check with your new provider how long it will take to migrate into their service and ensure that you migrate away prior to 16 March (your next invoice).

    Kind regards,
    Samara

Just wanted to say thankyou for all your help.

I am glad I decided to spend another 12 months broadband with Madasafish and if the service is the same as you give then no doubt it will be great! :j

If anyone has just finished there 12 month contract with Madasafish and are thinking of moving it would certainly be worth your while asking Samara what the best offer is. Trust me you wont be disappointed! :T

Do I get my free t-shirt now!

After all the help you have given me recently Samara I will be sad to leave Madasafish but commonsense tells me it is worth leaving. I'm currently paying £16.99 for my broadband service but if I switch to Orange who I have a contract phone with it would be free. Not surprisingly I'd like to save myself £17 a month!!
