50GB
- i guess this will be retailing at the £30-£35 area (possibly even £40), considering £26 is the normal subscription for 20GB

Hi Mr J,
Our 50GB product is going to be £25.99 a month for the first six months followed by £29.99 a month for the remaining six months of contract. First year average monthly cost: £27.99
Our 20GB product is £19.99 a month for the first six months followed by £25.99 a month thereafter. First year average monthly cost: £22.99
When you're outside of your first 12 months, get in touch with us and see what the best deal is we can do for you in exchange for a new 12 month contract.
Kind regards,

Now that is quite a good deal, and sounds quite tempting
Question: Why not just charge the average price?
I guess its more down to the marketing side of things0 -

Thanks for the reply, Samara. No-one would expect you to make a statement on the financial position!
(My post did ask if someone from Brightview could give us some reassurances)
This topic (concerns about the financial position of MAAF/Brightview) is now being discussed on at least 3 websites, so presumably the management are well aware of it - a statement would be helpful, as when they say check via the stock exchange it only fuels the speculation. (As only major announcements acquisitions tend to be made via the stock exchange) -eg.the company behind Euro1net collapsed without any stock exchange announcement.0 -
More on the deteriorating situation here - Invox is Brightview, the company that owns MAAF (note the share price graph!):

Hi mrJ,
In regards to your query;
Because a lot of our competitors publish their prices in the same way, it's the only way that at 'first glance' that you'll see that our prices are very competitive (which they are!).
For example, if you look at BT and you see that on their 2GB product their big headline price is £12.99 (it's really £12.99 a month for the first three month followed by £17.99 for the remaining 9 months).
If we did the average of our prices for our 5GB product (£14.99 a month) then the consumer puts that against the BT product £12.99 a month then we would look more expensive - even though through the course of the first year we're not (and we offer more usage)!
BT 2GB = (£12.99*3) + (£17.99*9) = £200.88
Madasafish 5GB = (£11.99*6) + (£17.99*6) = £179.88
Kind regards,

looks like some people are buying up the company on the cheap

- together these people have over 20%... the 2nd link is more interesting - since they bought over a million shares, or nearly 6% of the company... I sense a buy-out by the end of the year0 -
Hi, I am thinking of moving from plusnet and I already have a router from belkin wireless g. If I shifted to maaf, i see i get a free modem so is there a reduced price if i don't need one?

Hi Keefrto,
I'm afraid that there is no reduction in the monthly cost if you do supply your own hardware.
However our cancellation policy is quite lenient if you're able to migrate in and you supply your own hardware.
The cancellation policy if you migrate in from a non-LLU network when you supply your own hardware is £25. If you took the free hardware it would be £25 + £39.99.
Of course, when you sign up if you're going for the MAX package, please use the promotional code 'cheaper' and you'll get £1 off a month for the first year of service.
If you're signing up for MAX Plus, grab a referral code from the referral section of this website and you'll get £10 credited towards your account (the referree will get £20).
Kind regards,

There is a recent article on them:

It seems they paid too much for the ISPs (MAAF etc), and it is since this acquisition last year that things have gone badly (esp. the share price!).0
