  • agentzoonie - My agent shouldn't have said that building an exchange closer to your premises would resolve the problem. It's not very helpful.

I would like to explain the nature of all 'up to 8Mb' services. The final speed that you get on your line with MAX ADSL will depend on the length of your line from the local exchange. The longer the broadband signal has to travel to the exchange, the slower the service will be. Other factors such as internal wiring can also impact your speeds - this is why we recommend that you connect from the master socket in your house and not an extension.

If you're on MAX Plus (20GB) and you'd like to be on MAX (5GB) I can arrange this for you! Also -we're really sorry about the weekend of the powercut. I can imagine how frustrating it must have been to finally get connected and then get cut off.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

Thank you for this message Samara, and also for your PM message, I have replied.

As I said to you, I find it very unusual to have a personal contact for customer service, and to find someone so polite and helpful as you, is indeed a big bonus.

I'm exceptionally pleased with all the generous help and assistance you've given with getting a tricky installation, and getting it working - and also, making sure we end up with the product we need.

As this stands, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend MAAF. We all appreciate that things can go wrong, it's how they're sorted out that counts most :)

    Kind regards.

I finished work early yesterday but have not been able to connect to the net since trying at 3pm yesterday. Tried again at 7.30am this morning and still nothing.

Checked the service status and no problems mentioned.

Just been into the loft to get my old wired modem to check it's not my netgear playing up.

Lo and behold I have just connected again without replacing modem.

Anybody else been experiencing problems. I'm getting totally fed up with the unreliability to be honest. BT may have been more expensive but were excellent for reliability.
  • Hi Gambler,

I've not had any problems with my connection in the last 24 hours (I live in the London area).

If you PM me your username I can look into this on Monday for you. If you are getting frequent disconnections we should investigate this further.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • I have been with Madasafish for around 6 months, and have had continual problems accessing the internet.

These problems have become much greater recently and i have been without internet access for over a month.

This has resulted in me placing frequent calls to the technical helpline without any solution to my problem.

I have therefore informed Madasafish that I wish to terminate my contract due to their breach of contract and asked for some form of compenstaion and my Migration Authorisation Code.

They claim that I need to give them a months notice and need to pay £90 for early termination of my contract.

Will this cause me any problems while trying to register with a new provider

    thanks
  • Hi
Are they saying the problem is not theirs but yours. Why can't you connect and use your internet? If you can prove they are not providing the service that you are paying for, then I believe you certaintly have a case.
Have a look at Ofcom, they are the regulators, and they will intervene for you, if you can't come to an amicable arrangement.
    http://www.ofcom.org.uk/

Once they issue the MAC you have 30days to find another isp and changeover to them, very easy and straighforward.

    Hope this helps

I was really excited when I got confirmation that my Madasafish broadband was ready to go on Friday morning. Initially the speed seemed very good. However since last night the speed has decreased and seems slower than the old aol dialup i'd been using recently.

I checked the speeds on the site and it came back as:

    Downstream 67.3kbps = 0.1mbps
    Upstream 376.4kbps = 0.4mbps

So, although I don't have a problem connecting, I'm a bit dissapointed by the speeds I am getting, and I'm fed up with pages timing out when I'm browsing.

Any suggestions? Is this just a glitch, and it will improve?

It will take a couple of weeks to determine the fastest speed that your line can reliably support. If using a router, keep disconnecting and reconnecting rather than leaving it connected.

<grin> As you can no doubt guess I'm not a teckie type person ;-)

I signed up for the Max Broadband with speed up to 8Mb. Before I signed up the test on the website said "Estimated line speed: 6.5Mb or greater" I know my exchange can handle 2Mb with no problems, as that's what I was on previously (well ok some of the time at least e7even, need I say more!)

I'm using a Voyager 210 Router which was provided with the package.

As for syncing. think I need a tutorial in non teckie speak then I may be able to find it :-)

Thanks for the tips. I will try disconnecting and reconnecting rather than leaving it connected, which i usually do, and see if that makes a difference.

I think I was so thrilled to get broadband back after having to resort to an old dial up aol account, that I wanted it to work speedily and effortlessly. I'll just have to be patient for a week or so to see how it pans out.
