Yes, but you're not going to be customers in the same way that PlusNet have remained PlusNet customers. For all intents and purposes that is remaining the same. None of our customers will have seen any changes from the BT takeoever. In fact, all they will have seen will have been an improvement in service, which is apparently from the awards that we have won and the continued growth in customer numbers (which no other tier 2 ISP is seeing).

    Gambler,

If you are moving broadband from one line to another, then this can be done in two ways. There's the usual option of doing what is called a case and reprovide. We place the cease order, which takes 5 working days and then we'll place the reprovide order, which also takes 5 working days. This will normally result in downtime of about a week.

The other option, as has been mentioned above is to do what is called a Simultaneous Provide. This involves getting a Simultaneous reference (often referred to as a Fast Peter) from BT or your telephone supplier. We can then place an order to move your Broadband service on the same day as the telephone transfer. We need at least 8 working days notice for this.

Let me know if you have any further queries.

    Hiya,

Apologies - I was referring to Max Plus, rather than Max itself. I'll reply to your PM shortly! :)

£19.99 per month for 20gb is still pricey when you look at sky who are offering 40gb for £5 per month if you are a sky customer.

Yes, of course it does look very attractive! :)

The thing that you will have to consider is that Sky are heavily subsidising their broadband offerings from the revenue they receive from their television services.

I doubt they'll continue running their broadband services at a loss forever...

Just received the email from O2 stating that they have arrived in my area !!!!

Looks like MAAF now have some serious looking competition at renewal time this year.

Does anyone know a good isp for high usage in a rural area please?

50 gigs or unlimited, non-static ip.

Is there a site where you can type in your postcode or exchange and it shows you all the companies who provide at that location?

I'd rather not go with Sky because I've been told that if you want to switch out of Sky in due course, it can mean a two week downtime.

From my own situation and reading above, Plusnet seems to be offering deals that are a fiver a month more than Samara could offer.
I don't know if any company is offering "Samara deals" now.

Look up samknows website. It will have all your exchange's LLU suppliers, as well as the expected availability on your own line.

Demon looks even cheaper than Samara prices.

£17.99 for up to 50 gigs fair usage.

Are they decent, no horror stories..?

edit, did a bit of research, demon have lots of unhappy customers
