  • Hi Thanks!

Well - the first thing that I would check is your set up - most of the time erratic/slow speeds are caused by the hardware set up.

Did you review the three points?

    1. A microfilter is fitted into every phone socket that is in use.
    2. You're not using any long telephone extension cables in conjunction with the router?
    3. That you're connecting the router off of the master socket?

If you've gone through all of those points could you please PM me your username? I would like to have a look at your sync rates to see if I can establish further if it's a problem with the hardware set up of if we should be looking at the line itself.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • Please accept our sincere apologies for the service outage today.

There was a power outage this afternoon in our main data centre which affected Internet access for our customers. The outage occurred at 2:30 today and was corrected at 3:15.

We're currently investigating the cause of the outage and why the back up generators didn't kick in. As soon as I know what happened I will post again.

On a personal note I would also like to apologize for not being on the forum as actively as I would like these past few days. I would like to thank you for your patience with me during this time.

    Yours very humbly,
    Samara

    Hi CelticStar,

You don't have to take the line rental in order to get the wireless router. The wireless router is available for £25 even if you sign up for broadband only.

    Kind Regards,
    Nidhi

Can anyone tell me whether this router has an inbuilt modem? From what I can see it doesn't look like it. Thanks.

Was just wondering I know a very select few people who use madasafish and they all have one thing in common, they absolutely hate it, what are your experiences? is it really that bad?

I was using MAAF till last week and I have to say their customer service is good ie there is always someone there to listen to you. However most of the time the only resolution they can give is "change microfilter, blame internal wirings, switch on and switch off etc" Any problem beyond this is normally blamed on BT. May be it is truly BT's fault.

So in short the difference between MAAF and any other ISP is that MAAF always have someone there to listen to your complaints without any delay and for others you have to wait hours or days to convey your complaints. End of the day it is highly unlikely that neither solve your actual problems.

PS: I moved to AOL silver for £9.99/month (Ist month free and a free wireless router)
  • Hi Celticstar,

    In response to your query:

The answer is yes! You won't need an additional modem in order to make an Internet connection with any of the routers that we supply.

  • Hi
I am on Madasafish talk but I use 1899 doing the day, however I can't seem to use this today has anyone else had this or is the number now being blocked.

They block it. And all the other similar services.

You always have to pay MAAF for daytime calls - doesn't seem a bargain if you need to call during the day.
