Apart from a good time, and lots of bargains, the fact that my Mum reminded me of the things we used to make years ago, and that I can make good things. As we were walking around looking at fashion, bags, shoes, and nightware, etc I was full of inspiration again, to get creating. I know I have done the odd bag and cushion cover, but I used to make so much more. I suppose I just lost the knack or thinking about making things. With the beautiful books I now have, some given to me lately, some found in my mums attic, all have really made me really remember what a joy it was to make for myself, my family, etc. Before I ended up sewing for a living when kids were little. in the early 90's. I lost the joy of sewing then.
Today brought back some simple joys, ideas and stopped me worrying about or having to run about after the rest of the family.
on another note, its very cold in the cottage now. The drafts are beginning to be noticed. Fleeces out, big jumpers out. If the landlord doesnt get his act together withWarmfront soon, I will have to get the bubblewrap etc out until its done.!
Now I must go and check on my dinner. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I'm so happy for you! I love spending time with my parents too. They also won't let me pay for anything when I am with them. My mum and I are best friends now. We have a fantastic relationship and even better, she comes to stay about one night a week and we get to just hang out together.0

Hello Mooloo! I had often wondered where you were, and all this time you had a thread and I never even saw it! I'm glad to read about the lovely day you had with your parents, and your cottage sounds nice, but I've got a lot of catching up to do to find out what's been going on in your life, how the twins and babies are, etc etcTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Sounds like a happy, loving and relaxing day. Also sounds like you need to start doing things just for you, just for pleasure. We all need that.
Re the Warmfront grant. Are you absolutely sure you're entitled to a grant? I was looking on the website for a neighbour of mine and going through the eligibility. They weren't eligible because they're under 60 and don't get any health related benefit, and it doesn't list ESA as an eligible benefit......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

It depends on the council, warmfront are assessing EVERY house in our council area. They can't do anything for our house as it is only 6 years old, but they were putting loft insulation in a neighbours house this week (older house) and they are working with no benefits. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Hi Seaxwyn, good to see you around still.
My day at home went out the window. Just got back from the hospital about 30 minutes ago. DGS1, twin2's boy, was taken into hospital last night, around 2am being sick. He is still there at the moment, but he is stable, its not a major I don't think. But I was there this morning as soon as I knew. Twin2 was ringing the old phone number!. Anyway, he was drinking and eating a little when I left. I came home as the car park ticket was about to run out. We were waiting for the next doctors assessment, and that could be hours away. So I decided to come home and have something to eat. I am about to go for a shower, etc before I go back. Hopefully to take him home. His Dad from Oxford has arrived, apparantly he borrowed the money for the bus, to get to Banbury, but not enough to get home. So I had said I would take him back, and then stop at my BF's and come back early tomorrow to let the chimney sweep in. But I am just seeing what other options are available now that I am not thinking on the run!
Just saw my neighbour outside, she would let the sweep in for me, so I wouldnt have to come all the way back. Just need to leave her a key as they dont have one. BUt I dont have a spare. Her son is my landlord, so in a minute, will ring him and ask if he has a spare key. Also ask what time the sweep is due.
I was due to go to Oxford tomorrow after the sweep had been anyway.
I have an appointment on Tuesday morning with the Physio at Oxford John Radcliffe hospital, so if I pack a small bag for the next few days, I could stay down there. DS is out and about. He can stop at either my Parrots or at his sisters if he doesnt want to come home/or get his bike back on that road.!
But of course things will depend on what is happening with BGS1.
Need to go and take my tablets, missed them at lunchtime and will need them. Have a bit of a shower, wash my hair to make me feel a bit better, and pack a bag just incase. Waiting for phone call, so I might as well get moving.
Catch up later. xWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hope grandson is fine mooloo ........................is this the DD that is still in the hostel type place
Maybe social services will be more interested in moving her if so. Especially if the living conditions are too cramped(and dirty from what you have said) ...................could be the lining to a dark cloud moment
Either way try to not stress too much about it and do what you need to.

I am back. Let GS1 out at 5.30. In the end I gave his dad the money to get a bus back to Oxford. My BF pointed out that its not really up to me to drive him. (I dont think I couldhave sat in the car with him for 5 mins never mind 35-40 or so, gosh he was in need of a wash!!Yuk phew...).
The day was still long enough. The driving enough. Banbury is about 15 miles away, when I have to detour to the hostel for twins things and to drop them off its been a little bit further, but its all little windy roads, so that does make a difference to my arm. Ah well. I can relax now. GS is fine, he even ate Pizza and chips before he left the hospital!! So more stress for us adults then perhaps was necessary.
My BF has decided he can come to me today. So I am hoping to see him in a few hours. Dont know what time as yet.
Cup of tea time I think, with a heat pad on my shoulders asap!.
Re social, lets hope they have some power over council to help move them on, but I think that that is wshful thinking. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
So glad DGS is out of hospital. It's so scary when these things happen, isn't it?In the end I gave his dad the money to get a bus back to Oxford. My BF pointed out that its not really up to me to drive him.
At work we have a 'system' where our clients can borrow bus fares or meter topups once. If they don't pay us back, no more little loans. It's astonishing how they manage to cope once the ready supply dries up, and how some of them repay us because they know they might have a crisis in the future.
Can you get a little book, or a page in your existing 'spends' book, and give each borrower a page. When they borrow money, or you pay for something, or you give them a lift, you write down what they owe you and they sign it. Then you put any repayments in too. And set a limit - you're probably way over it already!
For DS, maybe he can 'earn' some of these lifts by helping out around the house - of course he should be doing so anyway, but any of the jobs which don't do your arms any good could be his responsibility.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
