    Hello,
I have had an awful time trying to get onto the internet. Even now the speed etc is only half a MB!
Anyway, I managed to slow down over the weekend. Friday morning was a bit hectic, but I was able to pack, wrap the presents, sweep and mop the kitchen floor, clean out the bins and generally tidy up. So at least I came home to a reasonably tidy place.
I took sewing with me. I finished a shopping bag out of a pillowslip, lined with shower curtain fabric. I finished a winter skirt, but I am not happy with the waisteband, so I may re do it later.
Then BF came back from sailing early, as it was too windy to sail. So we went out shopping, looking for a gasket for his kit car. Unsuccessfully. We wandered around Cowley, and I bought a length of Tartan, with a zip, for £3.99 that will make another winter skirt.
Then I had to have a rest. Too much walking. We went out in the evening, and watched some of our friends that are in a band. So we had a late night.
Sunday we had a lazy morning, I read, did another bit of sewing, while BF did some gardening. I collect DS at 3pm, and on to collect twin2 and her family to go and visit twin1 and my GD1, who was 2 yesterday.
ONly twin 2 could come, as her baby had not been returned from his other family, (they were watching the grandprix), so her new BF stayed behind and waited for him to come back. I was reall annoyed, but had to hide it. Had wanted the two cousins to enjoy a birthday tea, and candles.
I was also horrfied that twin1 had not yet got anything for her daughter. So it was only the presents and cards from my Parrots, my brother, and Me.
I even bought the cake, and birthday tea things.! I really do not understand my children at times.
When I got home, I was very tired, and just watched the TV.
Today I am running slow. I ache all over. Luckily DS decided to stay over with twin1 in town, and is going to college from there. So I had a lie in till 8am today.
I am still not dressed as I was huddled up in big dressing gown and a fleece blanket, with the laptop. Trying to sort out the connections etc.
Lets hope that this week is a quieter week.

pottering around home this morning. Traced a pattern out, cut out a lining for a handbag. Dug up some veg for todays casserole of chicken now in the slow cooker.
Have to go out at 2.30 at the latest to get DS, meet twin1 and take her shopping home with her, possibly pick up my mate, as she needs some trousers altered, (take my pins with me, just incase), then hopefully a bit more pottering this evening.
One less drive makes all the difference to my mornings.
Washing is on the line, but I just noticed its now raining!! So I will hve to bring it back in. Actually I will put it on the airers in the greenhouse as there is no plants in there at the moment.!

Finished the little bag while I was cooking the dinner. So one more bag to add to the collection. When I have enough I will put them onto the internet to see if they will sell.
Washing is just a little damp as the rain didnt come to much, so I didnt put it in the greenhouse.
Dinner, for me, done and dusted. DS had crisps and chocolate at 6 oclock around my mates house.
Collected DS from college, went to pick up Twin1 and GD1 from supermarket, realised hadnt a car seat, so had to get her keys off of her, go to her flat, get the seat and come back for her. By then she had done her shopping and was at the checkout, so I didnt bother doing any shopping.
Dropped her and her shopping off at her flat, her Social Helper, was there, so we left. Just intime for my mate coming out of her work in the hospital, so I picked her up and DS went into the back of the car, his long legs were a bit scrunched up, had to sit sideways!! Went back to hers, measured the trousers I need to alter, and then stayed for a cup of tea and DS snacked, while we talked.
So tomorrow I have 3 pairs of trousers to shorten for her, and I will drop them off again on Wednesday when I go back into the town.
DS is now on his xbox upstairs, and I have the sitting room to myself. My neck is quite bad today. Must have had my head too far forward while sewing the last few days. As well as the driving. Must remember to notice where my chin is, and see if I am tilting it too much!! Technical but the position of my head is very important in relationship to my pain in my neck and arm.
I have been trying to get my mind set into getting ready for winter, and saving my pennies, NSD, stock cupboard challenges, and making my own clothes/families too.

The thought of the government reducing my benefits, if it happens, scares me stupid. If I am struggling now, how am I going to cope with£25 a week less?
So I really must work harder at getting sorted out, and on top of all of the various challenges on here that will keep me going.
Focus, organisation, and experimetation seems to be the way to go. Problem is I have become, the opposite!. Its hard to start a new routine, and since I stopped working the routine really did go out of the window. Along with all the family problems everything just goes out of the window.
So my mini challenge to me, is to try to introduce one new thing into my day, as part of a routine, each day. See if I can manage that way, instead of changing everything all at once.? Perhaps that way I might start to achieve more consistancy in the day!.
To do lists, etc, too. Try and get some of my old Management Tools out of the rusty grey matter called my brain, and apply the work method to my home.
I know its not easy with the demands of the family on me, butI am hoping that their demands will lessen, when I say No, or compromise the timings they ask for help. (Like today, adding things in, while I was already out and about).
Now I am off to heat my neck pad, and see about cutting out another handbag, so I can sew it in bits and pieces when I have a few minutes here and there.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Tired, time for bed I think. Started to watch BBC!, but really not liking programme, bit too weird for me at the moment.
Shall see if I can get an early night, and then tomorrow, hopefully I will be on the ball with a few sewing jobs at home. Not going to the village hall things this week, as it sets me back £12 on adverage, if I attend all the things. So I will abstain, as I want as near as possible a NSD. (Except for possibly have to give DS bus money, or get fuel?)

Have you correctly adjusted your seat and steering wheel? My physio did mine for me and it made a vast amount of difference to my clapped out c5 c6 and c7 vertebrae. Felt a bit strange at first as I'd been driving for donkeys years in a very laid back position.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Hi Mooloo I have been following you since your first thread and I think you have the patience of a saint,I dont know how you do what you do and just want to say well done and hope you get some peace time soon.
On the sewing front I thought you may think of sewing soft doll type elves for everyone on this thread as I know I for one would buy one for my gd.
Good luck in your money making scheme anyway.

Hi Mooloo try not to worry about the reduction in benefits every government makes plans and promises they cant keep . . They forget that disabled people vote.
Try to find out when the supermarket sell off food at reduced prices. I know the Asda near to me sells off food on a thursday evening. Why I dont know. Got some great bargains like gingsters pies 10p each, childrens ready meals 39p. I even got blackberries at 10p a punnet which I froze.
Watch out for supposed bargains. I bought two 200mg jars of kenco coffee as it was two pounds per 200mg jars and near five pounds for one jar of 400mg. Iv found this with lots of products.

I suppose as the supemarkets are over 8 miles away, I usually try to go when I am already out in the car somewhere, to conserve petrol, but also to conserve the amount of driving that I do. I find it painful to drive for too long. I dont know why but I catch myself driving with my head forward. Dispite the fact that my chair is practically upright, and quite close to the steering wheel. My physio did say to roll a towel up into the small of my back, but I keep forgetting.
I have a Tennis Elbw support to put on my left arm, which helps when using the gears and the hand brake. But I have noticed that in my old car I had an armrest, but I dont have one in this car. That has meant I tend to hold on to the steering wheel, longer then my arm wants to be there.!!
Anyway, I will be seeing the physio again next week, after 10 months since I last saw one, so she will tell me the difference in my body from then, as its the same physio.

Re the elves. I will look further, as so far all I can see are bought ones, and the idea of them. (Or knitted) I suppose I could probably adapt another toy, if I think about it. But I have to investigate the law on selling toys, as they have to pass a certain standard if you sell them.
Anything aimed at under 12's have to have fire and other safety issues and regulations to adhere too.

  • Mooloo dont worry too much the reduction is for people who have had their medical assesment and been put into the "fit to look for work category" so shouldn't affect too many people with genuine need plus income support would still be paid if their was a shortage below the minimum standard of living it's just another ploy to look like people are off benefits ....................in reality they will just be on different ones!!

Regarding your struggle with different challenges i think you would be best to concentrate on managing on what you have rather than speculating money in order to make money the money making schemes can wait although sewing jobs which you get paid for/asked to do would be ok

Combined with the saying no to the family for lifts etc and keeping a track of every penny(i am back doing this but on pen and paper rather than spending diary as i kept forgetting to update figures!!!) i think you will be fine.

My new tabs seem to be doing the trick (MOBIC) a lot of the swelling and tension in the shoulder muscles has eased and the pain is more manageable ................finally

Back at uni so my posture is rubbish due to silly seats but hopefully getting my own through the college disability scheme soon.....hooray

Hope you have a great day
