Mooloo, I know you are a very determined and independent lady but sometimes you just have to say a big fat NO I am not doing that.
Pushing lorries out the snow indeed
I really feel for all of these people who's travel plans are being scuppered by the snow, especially those trying to get to loved ones for Christmas. It is such a shame:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Fingers crossed for you, and also for Molly.0

Mooloo - I don't post on your thread very often, but I hope it has gone well today and you have moved into your new home, looking forward to reading how it all goes in the future. I know you said that this thread was your new start, but life can throw things at you and you need to start again, there is nothing wrong with that, it just means life is going a different route to the one you thought it would. I agree with Jackie "New Year, New House, New Start" xxx
Molly - sending best wishes to you too, hope you are home for christmas xxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Hello everyone.
I am at my parents house again tonight.
The removal men arrived just after 8.30. They sent 5 today!
They dismantled the other beds for me, and took everything they could to the new house. It was a bit of a feat. They had to dig out the road and my drive area.
then they had to move the lorry several times for the various lorries etc that were coming through, with the snow ploughs on!
(typical we could have done with them earlier).
My Dad was great, doing all that driving.
The van was loaded by 11.15, and they had unpacked it all at the other house, by 2.15.
I only just managed to meet up with them for about 15minutes before they were gone.
Alas there are so many boxes etc that I could not find the energy or the space to build the beds so we have come back.
I was back in time to pick up DGD with my Dad from the Nursery.
Twin2 managed to see her boys, and my Dad was thrilled that DGS1 remembered him, and sore him in the car park, and called him Grandad, after all this time, he was pleased to see him. But my Dad still had to stay outside the centre for an hour while they were in the centre.
I managed to get my car out of the garage, and down the drive as the removal men had taken the time to dig out some of the drive further down. Dad drove in front, and I gingerly followed, until we had space to swap, then I was lucky enough to follow a farmers tractor, so had a reasonable run out of the village.
The removal men couldnt park to start with, so they had a break then tried again. Manged to get a neighbour to move a car or two, but the one directly outside my house we couldnt find the owner so they had to also walk a little way to get the things in.
Anyway, after a long day its all in the house. Twin2's BF stayed at the house but the sofa bed didnt turn up, and nobody rang me about the delivery. Will have to chase it tomorrow.
He helped me to start unpacking the boxes.
We managed to unpack 17boxes in 3 hours, but oh am I in pain today!
The hot water bottle is on.
DGD is already asleep.
I am having a whiskey and lemonade with my Dad (not my normal tipple), and then I am going to go to bed aswell.
We are going back to the house tomorrow, to carry on.
My BF has text and he is going to come up from Oxford, weather permitting and help us to build the beds. Twin2 is coming to help with DGD. As she is not in Nursery tomorrow.
SS have sent me a cheque! but its only for £178. not the £1,000 so another rant needed.
Thanks again for all the well wishes. I will start the new thread soon. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
All in all things seem to have gone well Mooloo
But sorry you are so tired and sore. Once the beds are made you can move in and do things at your own pace.
Wishing you lots of luck in your new home
Hoping Molly gets out of hospital in time for the festivities too.
