A new start for Mooloo

Don't worry Mooloo, when I was a student the landlord used to send people to look round our flat without warning us, first I knew of it was when about 10 students walked into my bedroom where a pair of my dirty pants were on the floor! Oh the shame! (Thank god I was at least fully clothed though!)
I have come home from visiting Molly, to find the Tolet sign is up in the middle of the front lawn.
The sun is shining so it is showing up my dirty windows!
Oh well, I have a couple of hours now to potter. Arm allowing.
I dont think there are any dirty knickers on the floor! But the carpets are bad, and I still havent had the quote for cleaning them yet. Mm best I go and chase that while I think about it.
DGD is watching TV now, and demolishing the yoghurts. She loves them.
Got to go and change a battery for her in her little car.
Then put away the dishes etc and start to make the rooms look a bit better then they are now! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well the first people to view the cottage have been around. I hate having strangers in my home. Heaven knows what they think of the way I am cluttered up to the hilt. The estate agent lady is lovely, but she even said she hadnt realised how much stuff I had until she showed them around. (she had arrived earlier and I had shown her around first).
I did downsize from a huge house before. Perhaps I still cannot let go of stuff!
I hope they like it then I wouldnt have to show anyone else around.
Have emailed BF and I may go there again this weekend, as Biggest of Mooloo has offered to have DGD.So we might even get to have an evening out! That would be good. Feel excited at the thought already.
Heaven knows what I will wear though! Something else for me to think about.
Waiting for information from DS to find out what time I have to go out this evening to collect him.
Did get some fish out to make a fish pie, but to be honest I am not sure I have the energy or the enthusiasm to make it! So will have to see what else there is we can do.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Last evening Twin2 rang asking me for the money to buy her a train ticket to Wales. Her BF is going, and his Mum paid for his ticket but not hers!
I have had to think about it, and have had to decide that it will have to be her birthday present, for the 19th, as I am not made of money and I know that she will not be paying it back.
She said that the Social Worker had come around to see her yesterday, with the paperwork for the assessments. She said that the guardian had said that If I go and see DGS1 on Tuesday 30th, his birthday, that I will not then be allowed to go on the Thursday which is my usual day.
I have asked for the guardians details to ask why?
I want to give this guardian a piece of my mind, but I suppose that will not help, so I will just hve to be calm and ask why? They also will not allow her BF to go. We were wanting to do a little party for him at thecentre as he will be 3.
DS has left his bus pass at home, and after driving him to the bus stop, getting part the way home, he rang to tell me. I just got to the bus stop as the bus pulled up, my petrol light had come on red, so I ended up giving him £20 for the bus! as I didnt hve anything less. (only just drawn that at from the bank minutes before!). He has also lost his phone charger, and so had had to borrow someones phone to let me know.
Last night I had to hang around, with DGD for 1 1/2 hours after he ddnt tell me he was not going to be on the 6pm bus! Luckily DGD and I could go and wait at my Parrots place! Even ended up with chip butties while we waited. We were lucky as they had had a powercut for an hour, and it had just come back on!.
Now all I need to expect is twin1 ringing to borrow money!!
The thought of a new carpet in the front room of the new house is drifting away faster then I would like to admit.!
My few hundred savings are going to be gone in a flash.!
DS will probably have to wait for his sofa bed too. But I will keep looking, and number crunching.
We will have to remain positive and focused or the demon depression will try to creep back in, and I want the door firmly slammed in its face! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo did you see in Martin's newsletter last week the article on low income families and the grants/loans etc that you can apply for to get help? I'm not sure where you worked before, but I used to be a civil servant and can apply to the civil serice benevolent fund for help.
It may be worth taking a look as there could be someone who could help you. Heres the link to the article. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/grants-low-incomeOfficially BR at 2.10pm on 6th May 2009, ED 7th December 2009

I went through the search and it came up with O. So looks like I am on my own again! Whats new there.
On the wrong ESA to get Community Care Grant. Jobcentre said I could apply for a crisis loan? But if I have any savings then I wont get it. So I suppose thats me out, althought the savings will be gone in the next few weeks.!
Perhaps I will get lucky and something else will come up.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
The quote to clean the carpets and cooker etc when I leave has come in at £520!! As I cannot do it myself physically then I am stuck with paying for it. Thats my deposit gone.
I am rather fed up, and where I thought that I would be ending this year in a reasonable financial position, it looks like the purse will be empty by then! and all I can say is that I am frustrated that I am not able to do the jobs myself anymore.
I will have to just Keep Calm and Carry on, and just be grateful that i have at least got some money to start with, and that the deposit will at least have covered the cleaning, so its not money out of my budget thats already dwindling. I have helped out the family far too much lately. Slowly my NO has seemed to have dissapeared.!
EEk and double EEK.
I am feeling really depressed, stressed and annoyed!. So I need to do something to change me around as fast as I can. Doom and Gloom is not allowed.
I would love a soak in a hot deep bath, but DGD is not sleeping much during the days now, and also the bathroom is just too brrrrrr.
Least I can look forward to a central heated place soon, and hopefully a bath I can relax into.
Whats next. Oh that hot cup of tea, a couple of rich tea biscuits and possibly 30 minutes of peace ish, while DGD is watching her TV.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
do you have to have the carpets cleaned? if they're not totally filthy/stained then i'd leave it and only clean any bad staining. why spend 520 quid if you don't 'really' have to?
also i'd hijack one of the twins/ds when they're in the house and get them to clean the cooker - you've enough to do as it is.RATFINK DAISIES!!!!0 -

Alas I do have to have the carpets cleaned. They are in a bad state. The cost for the carpets is £195 plus VAT I think, it was £85 plus VAT for the cooker, and the rest was a general cleaning!
The estate agent suggests that I just let this company do it, as it will pass their inspection then!.
Anyone would think I was living in a complete and utter rubbish tip, but its only the carpets that are YUK, as they are/were cream living in a village, by a farm, entrance straight into the house! With a toddler too.:(
I am going to leave the decisions until next week now. I am just wanting to calm down.
There really is no point in getting the twins to clean. They dont knowthe meaning of the word. Having seen both of thier homes of late you would understand!.
Perhaps I better buy a lottery ticket! Would be easier.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Can you not find a cleaner from the window in the newsagents, and hire a carpet cleaner for the day, and get the cleaner in the day after you move out to do it? A decent cleaner, who is doing it for themselves, would not charge that much. In fact, does Molly not have a cleaner, maybe they would appreciate a wee bit extra this near to Christmas? It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

the machines are about 50 to hire and as jackie says get someone to do it the day after , i pay my cleaner £20 for 3 hrs
the bis*el cleaners are quite good and can be had for about £80 if you want to buy one and a carpet cleaner always comes in handy especially with a toddler
in other news by latest lot of chicks are hatching*****
