I hope I can still make Collar/cuffs etc. Its been about 15 years since I did any. Once made my ex a shirt. He promptly wore it to work- as a mechanic, it came back with oil on it!
Re the Radio. No I havent got one at the moment. But my daughter has told me that I can get it on the computer Mum!.
Years ago, when I used to sew late into the night, to get a wedding dress finished etc, I used to play cassette tapes. I had a box of them, and I would play them, put them at the back, and just keep on doing that. If I replayed one of them I knew that I had been tucked up in the sewing room for over 20 hours and had to stop to get some sleep!!!!:o
I could never do that again! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
PS not been here long enough to know about jumble sales. But when I get the chance I would visit just to be a part of village life.
Although with only £1.22 to my name until ESA sort themselves out, I havent anything to spend!. So its recycling from within the house. There is bound to be something I can use.
Now I better look for a pattern or I wont be making anything later.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Click on the radio station icon you want to listen to (near the top of the page)
You can then click on 'listen live' - an icon with a speaker on it.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Yeah I got music!! Thankyou everso!!! See there is so much I still need to learn about my computer.
No pattern for a shirt in the old ones. ((well not for a 2 year old anyway!!). So perhaps I will look for some different fabric and make trousers/jacket/ There are a few of those in the books. But I am having an early night now.
Hopefully I will feel fresher and on the ball tomorrow. (And ESA might have sorted things out too! Well I can hope anyway.)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning all, (well it is while I am writing this)
The sun is shining here, which always makes me feel better. My arm is not brilliant, but considering my medication has been dropped by 1/3 I am not doing too badly. But I can feel pins and needles in the surface of my skin, all over. THe nerve signals are obviously getting through again!.
DS didnt contact me, or come home last night. I hope he got to work yesterday, and today. His phone is off, so I presume his battery went.
What will I do with that boy!?
Another day ahead, with nothing set to do. I plan to get on with the cravat sample 2, and see if it will work better then the pattern I down loaded.
Couldnt find a small shirt to make for grandson, so I will make him some trousers out of the camoflage fabric rememants from DS's old curtains. (4 homes ago). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning Mooloo - the sun is shining here as well which makes things a whole lot better.
Glad to hear you're moving forward and managing some sewing etc. I've got Shingles at the moment so can;t go towork as I teach swimming. Its all down the S2 nerve in the back of my leg so sitting can be quite uncomfortable.
I'm knitting a bag out of old plastic bags at the moment .......... family think I've lost the plot!
Hope the shirt turns out fine. - Enjoy the sunshine0 -

Hi Surfbabe, sorry to hear about the shingles! My BF had it a little while back. Still very sensitive in places.
I knit with plastic bags. My last bag, a shoulder bag, I lined with stretch demin. My kids think its cool, and my eldest things I should sell them. But it takes too long hours wise to be cost effective. Its just something to do when I am stuck in bed usually. Or watching TV in the evenings.
Decided to make some trousers. Have drawn up a pattern, combat style, and will cut it out after I have had my tea and toast.!:jWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Don't mean to sound stupid but how do you knit with plastic bags?:j rolo-polo1965 :j0 -
Yeah, my ESA is in the bank. It may not be much, but at least it means that they have sorted it out. My child Tax credit also seems to have arrived early?
I can now pay my electric bill.:T
Only problem I now have is that I cannot get any cash out of the bank, until I can get mobile, so I will not be buying anything from the butcher van/grocer that comes around the village.
I hope that DS comes home soon and he has been paid! Perhaps mum can borrow from son for a change! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I cut them into about 1 1/2" strips, spiraling around from the bottom to the top, and then when I have a long strip, I jst use it as if it was wool. Can get a bit of the colour printing on the hands, but the effect of the colours is a bit like random wool. It is a bit of a slog, but I tend to sit watching TV and knit so I dont really notice the time.
I have asked my BF to brng his digital camera over when he visits, so I will see if I can get some photos done and then you can see what I mean.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
