Not sure where the time has gone. I am due to collect twin2's BF and take him to the Jobcentre, to demand they sort out his funds. I am picking up my best friend, and we are going to window shop while hes in there.
Better go and get ready. Not sure what to wear becuase the weather is looking good, but windy out there.
I have my arm support at the ready for driving. Feeling a lot better now that I am not dosed up with the anti-depressants.
But my hip is not quite playing the game today, so I will have to keep stopping. Ah well. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I had a very busy day on Friday, with my best friend, while we waited for Twin2's BF at the job centre. (Still not given them any money. Nearly 6 weeks now).
So I still ended up giving them some food and bits out of my cupboards.
we girls went around all the charity shops, mooching as you do. Did spend a little bit, but it was buying things that I can put away for christmas/birthday presents, and a double duvet cover, that will look wonderful in my bedroom, and was a bargain £2.99. We girls decided to make a night of it, and my Best Friend stayed the night and we had a bottle of wine and a good chin wag.
Saturday I had BGP for the weekend, and took her with me to BF's in Oxford.
We had a lovely day yesterday, weather wise, and walked a bit by the river.
BGP was very good, and is learning all the time. As 21 month olds do!.
Took her back this afternoon. Noticed a problem with my brakes on the way home.
Luckily I was only a few corners away when I realised what was up. So carefully got home. Now I will be carless for at least 3 weeks, (Unless there is a miracle) as I cant get hold of any money to get things fixed until my parents get back.
So if its not one thing its another.
The post heralded yet another letter from DLA refusing it.
So not the best of weekends in the end. No DLA, no car, no access to CSA.
The good thing is I dont actually have to go anywhere for a few days.
I was going to take someone to the hospital tomorrow, but I have had to cancel, obviously. This gives me no excuse not to start to do the sewing I had planned.
DS will have to get the bits of shopping on his moped. When I can get hold of him to come back home. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I cannot believe that its lunchtime already!.
Went to bed at 9pm last night. Woke around 3am, and the brain just started to whirl so really struggled to get back to sleep, but then I overslept, didnt get up till after 9! Oops, I have been on the computer looking at emails, doing surveys etc, and of course been trying to catch up on all the threads that I pop on to on here!.
3 hours have disappeared!.
Better go and get dressed, wash up and do all the things I should have done already.
But it will be slowly as I am very sore today. Overdid it at the weekend!! (Again!)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Back to trying to sort my budget.
Had a strange electric bill, saying it was based on my reading. Except I was in Oxford the day it was supposed to have been read!. Could have just paid it, as it was less then what my readings were but it would only catch up with me in the end. New reading means I owe £46.01. Then I will be starting with NPower. (Dont ask!).
BT sent a quarterlybill again, and when I tried to sort it out, last time I had a hassle.
Stuck to my guns, asked to speak tothe supervisor, and again have been assured that my £48 a month would be acceptable, as there was a problem with the account. etc etc. So once again I paid something towards the outstanding balance, and (£41.66) then my DD will start (again) in August!. Sorry for the mixup and this will not happen again Mrs S!! Right, like I believe that like a hole in the head!
Still need to reduce everything even more, but it will be a few months before I can reduce otherthings.
At least I have the rent money. Thats the most important anyway. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I have ordered my log maker for making paper logs out of my paper/cardboard via a well know auction site. Including postage it worked out over £10 less then delivery from Mr Argos or BQ. So soon I can start to make our logs for the winter.
DS has some work with a painter/decorator tomorrow, and it could lead to regular work over the summer if he works hard. Fingers crossed.
Also been looking at sewing patterns etc on the internet. After looking at the prepare for winter link.
I have spent most of today on the computer. So am naughty as I didnt do any sewing afterall.
Made mince stretch for tea. With tinned tomatoes, carrots, red onion, porridge oats, maggi cube and a splash of brown sauce. Made a small amount of mince make enough meals for DS and I tonight, and enough for us to freeze for another 2 meals.
I have a sewing job, to make some cravats for a wedding. Not sure how many, but some material just got passed to me, via two of the offspring. But without the details of what was wanted!! Typical. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
4 Cravats to make. No interfacing, threads etc just the material. Could be difficult as I dont have the right threads? Will have to search the nooks and crannies and see whats closest to the colour, and see if I hve any interfacing? As I am stuck in the village I will have to order via the internet otherwise!.
(My key board is playing up, and I have to keep retyping!)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I am off to see if the village project coffee morning is still on, I have £4 in cash so at least I can buy a cup of tea if they have tea!. (Dont like coffee). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

What colour do you need Mooloo? I have a load of different threads that were mine & my mum's, and also a full set from my s/h sewing machine, so may well have something that will do.
Also, on the weddings board, there may be a thread with details of making a cravat......lindaatno9 is one to ask if you get stuck.0 -

Hello Floss, The material is a Turquoise/jade green kind of colour.
I have been looking at some cravats on Ebay, thought I might buy a cheap one and cut it up for a pattern, becuase I spent until 11pm last night on the net looking for a pattern?
I used to have a pattern many years ago, but alas, I have a tie pattern but not a cravat!. They are unfortunately different.
Thanks for that information I will go and see whats on the wedding board. I didnt even know there was a wedding board!! So much stuff on this site.
I had a couple of cups of tea, and some cake made by one of the women, coco and courgette, and another bananna and honey. There was a beetroot nd something one but I declined. Didnt want to look too greedy.
The "project" is run by the Methodist Church. It was revamped 5 years ago. It has a bright and airy room upstairs as well as downstairs. Kitchen and even a shower room.
I was quite impressed.
Donations for the tea, so I put a£1 in the pot.
They do meals, a lunch club, also on a Tuesday, but it is the last one today, re starts in September. £3.50 for 2 course lunch.
There is also a Hobbies Club on the 1st Tuesday of the month. So Tuesdays seems to be the day to do things here.
Everyone there were very friendly, although it was obvious that New People are very rare. There were a bout 20 people there in the end. Most of them had been on a "Health Walk" before. Some were going out again on another walk.
But at least I have now started to have contact with people from around here. Although most are not actually from this village, but others nearby.
I have been sewing together the sleeves off of a shirt (that I used the body to make a cushion cover with), and am currently stuffing them with cut up bits of stockings that I cannot find thier pair or are laddered!, and turning them into a door stop for the front door.
The wind i howling around this cottage tday, whistleing and making terrible noises, so I am getting a taste of what the winter may be like.:oWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
