i am a big lurker on your thread Mooloo, HELLO:wave:
This is more a idea regarding your homesewing . One thing i buy for my DD is fancy hairclips. I love little girlie hairclips. its the price of them they can cost up to £5 for a set . and she loses them
So i bought a set of cheap clippy hair clips in the pound shop and i am going to sew bows on to them . there are 30 in the pack. i plan on making bows from spare ribbon and maybe attempting some flowers and attaching them .
So for my pound i would get 15 sets :T of lovely unique hair clips. I just had a thought that if your good at making bows, little flowers etc you could make some for your stall. i know even selling them for a £1 each set would be cheap enough for the parents but still gives you a profit
I also like putting a flower clip in my hair, its very modern and in just now and i am sure people would buy them as they would be one offs.
i hope this makes sense to you and is of some help to giving you ideas .
lol dora xLife should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!0 -
Hi Mooloo,
Haven't posted for a long time, but have been reading and keeping up.
Your taggies look fab. Both of my boys have had these.
I have been reading the OS preperations for xmas 2010 thread on the OS board and one lady has posted a photo of a lovely cushion she had made. Post is number 144. As i'm no sewer, it may be a lot of work, but i thought something like this would look great on your stall and you could take commissions. I for one would love one if you could manage it. And you wouldn't have to do all the name, maybe just initials or just choo choo for the train etc
Rambling now, so shall go. Take care and carry on.0 -

Thankyou everso much. I must admit I did fall lucky with the printed duvet that started me off, and Cherylee for suggesting them!.
Re the Christmas thread, now there is somethingelse I want to follow! ha ha , if I get the time.
The cushion looks good. I havent done much applique but I could take some of the ideas and run with them. I shall have to see what i can come up with over the next few days and see how long it takes me. Then I can work out if I could sell them!
Thanks for the inspiration. I will keep you posted.!:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Hello, thanks for thinking of me. I shall have to see what I have in fabrics to be able to do something like this. My aim is recycling, so the bows/flowers will have to come from my stash/sourced things. I hadn't thought about hair accessories. But they certainly can be expensive.
Next time I go to town, I will have a rummage in the pound stores, and see if I can get something to experiment with.
Thanks again for the ideas. :T:TWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well its been quite an exhausting day in all.
Taking Twin1 home, coming back and trying to do some housework.(failed really). Molly came and babysat for me, with her daughter.:T:TThankyou so much Molly.
The Panel meeting went well. But I did feel pretty daunted by facing 9 strangers over a big oval table.! I think I talked too much, as is my problem when I am nervous!.
They all said that they were happy to reccommend me to the next level people, subject to my CRB check, which still has not come through.
So now i have to go through the hoops for the next level.
Am being asked about the acceptance of guardianship, etc and again asked to fill in my forms for funding. (means tested really). I have to give my financial situation. etc etc. Thats easy. Am at the bottom of the rung, like so many of us on here!
Anyway, it was a positive that took up until 3.30 today!
Now I am having my cup of tea, trying to relax a bit. DGD is asleep after being worn out by her adventures, but I suppose I shall have to wake her now, or she will not sleep later. But oohh the peace!.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo pleased the meeting went relatively ok enjoy your cuppa , started knitting myself a sleveless jumper/tank top yesterday i normally only do little projects as i bore easily and prefer knitting as it can be picked up and put down without dragging loads of stuff out .....wouldn't it be nice to have a craft room you could close the door on
taggie looks good , my eldest used to play with the labels in his clothe and could not sleep with out fiddling with the label on his pillow a taggie would have been a great idea .If you need to buy fleece Mr A have fleece blankets for £3 or was it £2 in cream /red/chocolate
you mentioned buying lining for bags dont forget sheets!!*****

It was our pleasure and we both really enjoyed our day too although my DD is exhausted and a bit emotional as she is getting herself in a state as its results day tomorrow. Your DGD was absolutely perfect - no fuss, no tantrums and talkative and happy. She was adventurous in the soft play and very sociable making little friends along the way. A real credit to you and coming on in leaps and bounds! Of course they have to recommend you to foster her - they only have to take one look at her xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
