Mooloo saw you over on the sewing thread and posted there an idea that you might be able to use. On a blog someone had used teatowels for a toddlers dressing gown. It was great, with the wide range of colour and patterns available (not to mention how cheap they are) you might be able make something like that for your stall. Sorry there was no pattern.

Oh thanks, I will pop over and have a nosey!!
All quiet on the weston front.
Only problem with having my thoughts is that they dont always co-incide with the fabrics that I have already got!!
Then it means trying to source them, and as my aim is to recycle thats not as easy as it looks.

Mind you for DGD, I can make new if I have to? Thats not cheating is it.?

Aargh, so many blogs, I had a good look at a few, some I had noticed before, but missed the dressinggown one, but I will have to have another look. I am getting a bit too tired.

Think that I better stop now, as there is sewing all over the front room. I shall have to put it away in the morning, as no doubt DGD will not let me sew, and her mum once more decided not to come over.! grr.

Hi there, just noticed your new improved signature! :rotfl:

Anyway, just about the tantrums, it is so normal for a two year old, and she WILL grow out of it. I might be tempted not to put things back into her room if she throws them out (but don't ask me where I WOULD put them!) and when the room is bare ask if she would like things back, as she threw them out before!
Signature removed for peace of mind

oh sorry if I mislead you, Mooloo it wasn't a blog on the sewing thread but one I was browsing on the net. I think it might have been an Aussie or US one. I look at so many cant remember. But when I saw it I thought that is soooo cute and with your sewing experience sure you could adapt a pattern you already have. And yes your dgd can have something new, and no it's not cheating (or you might have something in your stash already suitable). Have you an old fleece or blanket that might be good for the winter.

Alas last night when i went up to bed, (I had checked on DGD earlier of course), when I went to check on her, she was soaking!. So we have a step backwards after a month of dry beds. So I had to change the bed at 10oclock.! that was easier said then done, I usually get my lanky lad to help with the bottom sheet. So its not actually fitted around the bottom at the moment.
I will have to wash the duvet today!. Typicial that I had done it at the weekend ready for her coming home from Biggest of Mooloo's (with DS's help).
She still cried out a couple of time's in the night, but was asleep when I checked on her. So I was up and down for quite a few times, and therefore I am certainly starting the day with a few less "spoons" then I normally do.
We have the Tweenies on the TV, which she is actually watching and not doing anythingelse. But she will probably soon get her bounce back!

I dont have anything planned today. But I know that twin1 is waiting for the bankmanager to get back to her, about her overdraft? She is due her benefits tomorrow, so I fear that two weeks worth of money for her to live on, will be swallowed up clearing some of that off! So what will she live on? Well its not going to be money from me, as I have to put together £200 for my car insurance. All quotes are around £195 upwards at the moment.
I have let the budget slip a little so may have to dip into the savings pot! not what I had aimed at doing.!
Right I better get us some breakfast!

I have done occasionally, but I do tend to forget. It took me nearly a year to get the car insurance money back from SW's last time. No the time before. I renewed with them last year as they were the cheapest so couldnt do a new policy.
I may have another look this evening.
we will see. have been overed £20 discount from the brokers that do my house insurance, and that would possibly bring an quote down to £170 odd which would be good.!
    Any penny saved!!

DGD is driving me a merry dance today.
I am trying to do a little bit of creative sewing, and she is lovingly taking all my patterns and drawing on them, or trying to get the scissors and cutting things!! good job I am only playing with ideas today!.

My new Labels have arrived already!!! woo hoo!.
I think they look good! :D

  • I've just done a bit of sewing with my daughter. I cheated and purchased the kits from Amazon. So far today she's made a Barbie purse and a Barbie notepad. I think the kits were only about £4 and they came with four different things to make. She's happy! Maybe DGD would be a bit young for the sewing one, but she might like to make a bracelet or similar? You could also get her a chalk board, and coloured chalk or have you thought about making her finger puppets? Little ones usually love them! Especially if she had a little bag to put them in as my daughter had to make do with a sandwich bag for hers, lol.

Shes got a small chalk board, and I have some colours and white chalk, bought 100 pieces for 99p in the Works in MK a few months back. So I got her, attempting (not very well) to draw around my elephant template, as I was making a couple of elephants out of suede, and another suede type fabric. (left over from a blouse I cut up to make my mums bag earlier in the year!).
I have a couple of pillowcases, begging to be made into something but I cannot make my mind up whether to make some more carrier bags out of them, or another outfit for DGD with them? I have been making some more hearts, or finishing off some that I had started.
Cut out and made a small Tilda heart, but I am not sure if I like the shape, as they are uneven. (supposed to be).
Have put some batteries in the camera, so I will try and get some pictures of my latest efforts sorted out a bit later today.
Ah, maybe I will make another apron out of one of the pillowcases ready for market. ;) Then the other one can be a bag, and a skirt for DGD. See I am getting my creative head on!. Now to get the energy.
We are just having lunch. She is quieter. It took 8minutes to get her to put her bricks away! Granny is not going to give in and do it for her!! (I probably have been too often, without realising it. Biggest of Mooloo pointed it out to me on Sunday!! oops).:D
