Well I managed to make two football shirts into cushions. One England shirt and one Liverpool shirt.
I cut out a hessian type fabric bag, but to be honest I am too tired and too sore to finish it tonight. Which is a pity becuase there is a big part of me that wants to carry on, but I know when DGD wakes in the morning i will regret it, if I havent had enough sleep. Its been a long week, without her Mums coming, and with me not feeling very well and waking every few hours.
So I am calling it a day.
I will have a few hours in the morning to decide if what I have is enough for the stall, and it will just have to have the same things on it, and I will re-arrange it. there wont be the flags though, as they are up in DGD room and I better not take them down now. However I also do not know how long I will be able to stay if at all, with having to take DGD with me!.
I did the toaster cover. as well. Forgot about that. But I must put my prices up slightly as I have probably only charged for the fabrics value, definitely not for my time!. I will live and learn!.
Dont expect to cover for all my time, but I ought to be making at least a little bit on each thing!.

I have had more interest in my sachets and flags, and am thrilled and greatful to those here who have expressed an interest in my sewing. It has boosted my confidence alot.

    Night all.

Biggest of Mooloo's BF, is taking the bike to fix it. He has to rebore the thread or something, as the thread on the wheel nut was stripped. So it is in hand. Remember that we live miles away from anywhere and he has been home a lot more and been helping me with DGD too. I will not be running around everyday for his romantic liasons, but he would not have needed to come back today if it wasnt for the fostering SW wanting to meet him and do the forms for his CRB check!.
Fair point! Hope he gets his bike back soon.

You will have to see if the g/f can come out to him sometimes, a) so that you can vet her and b) 'cos an extra pair of hands might make up for another mouth to feed! :rotfl: Having said that, my boys have NEVER so much as let on that they HAVE g/fs, let alone let me meet them.

If you need more ideas for simple makes, there's a demand for snazzy / personalised Blue Badge holders over here! :rotfl:

Well I have popped over and had a look. Would need to see a Blue Badge holder as it is, and see if I am able to make something that will work as well. so will not be today. But thanks Sue I am going to see if I can take some measurements from one, and practice.
Molly? Fancy me jazzing up yours?

Well I am back from a slow morning at the market. However I sold the bag I finished making this morning, and the two football shirt cushions I made last night. So with the toaster cover preordered, and made only yesterday, It looks like I need to make new stuff.
There was a very proffessional art/cards/sewing stall there. Made me pale into insignificance. She had KathKidston fabrics, quilts, bushka?dolls, and selling feltpacks, buttonpacks ,, and of course bunting.! (I couldnt see the price of her bunting though). She has a fulltime business doing it. Talked to her, but I really felt very ameatur against her.
It was difficult with DGD running around, and wore me to a frazzle so I left early.
Was hoping that she would go to sleep now but she is still driving me to distraction.!

Mooloo don't worry too much about the competition ....full time means higher prices . Although it might help to concentrate on different things to hers .

Hubby has cut me a plywood template so i have no more excuses for not making a start on my patchwork now , only problem is i seem to have loads of pink fabrics ......and i have boys! :) might have to pass them on . I need to tackle the fabric mountain though as i have been donated 6 duvet covers this last month . One is red gingham so destined for hanging hearts , one is playboy pink another denim blue and check so lots to be going on with.

Hope you get a rest and is DGD does go down .....make sure you do too!!

Thanks for those kind words Shaz.
I have managed a sleep only becuase DS needed to comehome, she wasnt asleep so we went to get him. She still didnt go down to sleep, but I hit the pain wall, and had to go and lie down. I had an hour and a half lie down, must have slept for about an hour, but was dreaming about the market/people in it, and putting DGD on the loo of all things!
i shall have to keep an eye out for duvetcovers, they give so much material, thats brillaint for recreating things.
I dont have very much for boys either! Bit of camoflage that should have been to make DS a boilersuit many years ago, and never got made. But I am sure that I will find things as I go. Football shirts seem to be a hit with the kids anyway.
Want to make completely different things for next week though as so many people walk in and just go straight to the fruit and veg, chat to thier neighbours and walk away again.
I think I iwll need to get some leaflets about me, and shove them all around the two/three close villages and see if that will catch somepeoples eyes. But to do that, I need loads of starting stock, of variety of things. etc etc. Which is very daunting when I cannot fill a stall at the moment. So that time will just have to come.
At least over the last two weeks I have made £18 profit! seeing as everything was donated/or bought so long ago, I cannot recall the costs!.
Added extras though will have to be factored in in the future, like buttons, threads and ribbons etc.

When I think like that its just too scarey to contemplate!.The body is not up to it all. Not yet anyway.

Notice the eggs sell well. So do the cakes!

Right I want to see if there is anything I can do quitely just now, and see if my arm has recovered from this morning/yesterday.

My garden has goneto seed, litterally. Things that I should have harvested by now are bolting, seeding andthe weeds are taking over. Dispite DS telling me he would help me wth the garden. The only thing that I could get im to do was to cut the grass for me.
I wish I felt well enough to go out there, but I just dont get the umph!! Maybe tomorrow.
    :o
