Well it looks like that Stanstead is still open tomorrow. Fingers crossed that Mooloo will get home ok!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Thanks for keeping us up to date Molly. Glad to hear she is having a good time although she is bitten. My niece only got home on Thursday night and she was supposed to come home on the previous Sunday.

It does seem to be very hit and miss with this volcanic cloud at the moment! Mooloo's flight is showing as on time and the airport is open so hopefully she will get home. Fingers crossed!!!!

Hello I am home. Thanks everyone for the concern.
I am not very well unfortunately, so the holiday was now as good as we would have liked. Started off with terrible stomach cramps at about 2.30am Saturday, as we were getting up, and they came in waves all through the flight, (thought I was going to be sick at one stage!!).But they finally disappeared around about 7am on Sunday. Thank god. It made doing things a struggle but i was determind to carry on for BF's benefit. The first room we were shown was not to specifications and we asked to be moved. (Had ordered ensuite- got a shared bathroom). But it didnt bode well. No Air conditioning. Terrible smell in the entrance way, and got worse. Then on the Saturday night we were under attach from Mosquitos like i have never been before. (even living abroad in my youth). I was killing the dam things and the room looked like there had been a massacre by the morning.! We didnt get any sleep, we were hot and bitten. Unfortunately it affected my face, with well over 40 bites. I puffed up like a balloon, or as Molly mentioned I felt like elephant man!. Still do. My eyes are the worst effected. I had to hide behind my sunglasses.
BF asked for his money back (got half of it) and we went and found another hotel for the second night. Which was a palace compared. Pity we wasted a night in the other one.
The breakfast at the first was a coussaint and a cup of tea, in a cafe around the corner.! We missed lunch, we had a packet of crisps and then we had a lovely meal in the same Pizzaria as the first night. The food was lovely, but eating pizza two nights running was not my idea of heaven. However the restaurant was about the only one that was open!.
The wind was terrible, and the streets and beach were the worst I have ever seen for rubbish, and dirt. Then the beach was all jelly fish! Wouldnt want to swim in that lot!.
All in all I will not be recommending the area to anyone. They will need to up thier game if they are to get many tourists!.
Ah well, it was an experience.
Now I am going to bed to get some very much needed sleep, and hope that DGD doesnt get a fright when she sees my face. There were no Pharmacies open so I had to suffer until we arrived home at BF's at 4pm!! So now I am hoping the anit-histamines start to work fast!.
Biggest of mooloo is collecting twin1 for me, and bringing her over with DGD so i can go to bed.
I will laugh about this one day!

Thanks Molly for the updates and the contact with home, and for everyone for wishing me well etc and to get me home. As stanstead was about the only airport open this morning we must have been lucky even thought the flight was delayed.

Are you just making that up to entertain us? Surely it wasn't that hideous? Did you get some good couple time anyway, despite all the setbacks? You poor things. You are right, though, you'll laugh about it one day!

Oh dear Mooloo. I hope you are feeling better today and that there were a few good moments between the disasters. Here's hoping it will turn into one of those memories that you will laugh about in years to come. We had a family holiday that involved near hurricane force winds, torrential rain a hospital trip and the monsters building sand castles while wearing shorts, sandals, vests, t-shirts, jumpers, coats and hats. When anything goes wrong on holiday now, we just say "At least it's not Bournemouth"
P.S...we were there in July. Our family and friends now plan their holidays when they know we are at home.

    Morning,
It was different! BF said that he had a good weekend. So i suppose that it was my health that got in the way. But I did find it a very windy city, and I did struggle to keep standing up on some of the corners!. (but I did laugh).
It was good to have time with BF, no problems there. We liked the same foods the anit-pasti tray (meats andcheeseboards) were lovely. I could eat them again and again no doubt. But although the Pizza's were the best I have eaten, I am not really a pizza person. But I would recommend them to anyone brave enough to visit the town.
I suppose I envisaged romantic walks along the beach, at some stage, but although we walked along the beach, I justfound the rubbish very off putting, and made me realise that I must make sure that anything that I can possibly do to recycle back here at home, I must.
I just hate seeing Rubbish in the streets, and on the waterways. But walking along looking at the waves crashing on the rocks, I could sit and watch the sea all day.

If we had gone to the second hotel originally I am sure that my view of the holiday would have been vastly different, as I would have not had the mosquito bites to contend with, it made me feel "ugly" and itchy an swollen, and the "romance" side of things, and wearing my evening wear didnt happen. So where I wanted to respark a bit of romance and possibly admiration when I got dressed up, I was not able to get dressed up, and felt terribly frumpy with having to wear my special flat shoes, and not able to do makeup etc . Its a girly thing.
If I ever go in that direction again, I would head out of the area and go to see the other side of the island, rather then the town thats all.

It was lovely not to be bothered by any of the children, and not to have to think about a 2 year old etc tc.However I did catch myself saying DGD would love that slide/pool etc by the beach.

Right twin1 says I do not look as bad as I did yesterday. She is also wanting to go home this morning, so will have to cut short our chatter after coffee morning. To get her back before 1oclock.

Biggest of Mooloo took a photo of me last night! Cruel child! She said that her plans for America have changed and she is not able to take DGD with her now. This will have ramifications for the normal holiday we (BF and I, and some offspring???) have in October. I am not sure I will be able to have another holiday now this year. Which is a blow. We will definitely have to work with SS to rethink the situation with DGD and twin1's care arrangemnts.
Must get her to see a solicitor again
This week we have a review of her case. Thursday.

Twin2 has not come back from Wales afterall. Not coming back until nxt weekend, so that means she will not be visiting the boys today afterall. I am so angry at her. Didnt help as the notes from the big case conference were on my door when I got back, and the reading was so depressing that I couldnt carry reading it last night.

Right Molly is due in an hour, and I am still in my dressinggown, and have only had a cup of tea. Must eat something.
(didnt get to see a vegetable all weekend, and only about 3 cups of tea! just not enough of either for me!).
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

I did laugh when I related it to Biggest of Mooloo yesterday, as I didnt want to start to cry! No it does sound funny when you relate it.! I am still pleased we got to go away, and I just wish that time with BF was more often, longer etc .

Anyway, better really go now, or Molly will catch me in the dressing gown,. !!Now that would be a laugh.!!:D
