BBC news site, 5 day ash forecasts (a bit like weather forecasts) indicate that airports in SE England MAY have to be closed from Sunday.

I wouldn't worry her yet ... Maybe tomorrow!

Thanks. Please lets keep an eye on this together and I'll make a decision tomorrow re texting her - lets hope she can receive texts in Italy!

Checked her airline website and ok for tomorrow so lets keep fingers crossed!

Sorry, didn't mean to alarm anyone, they seemed quite confident about closing when I heard it on the radio this afternoon, although obviously it can change at any time.

Molly, I think it might cost her to receive a text abroad. If you know what network she's on you could check their T&C's online.

I personally think that if Mooloo's flight does happen to be cancelled/delayed the family should rally round and take care of DGD, after all, it's what Mooloo's been doing for all of them for the past few years ;)

Mooloo joked about this when I last saw her...lets hope there is volcanic ash she said...jokingly! However I think it could potentially be a difficult situation for her and would hate there to be any more hassle. I agree that her family should rally round but there is only Biggest who can care for DGD over a longer period of time and she has work commitments. i know her (Mooloos) parents are off to France next week so Im not sure they could help. Probably not helpful speculating. I looked at Met office and it potentially could happen. I guess biggest will be in touch with Mooloo , but I think if it definitely looks like it going to happen I will text her and then she is aware although I dont want to ruin her holiday with the worry of it! What does everyone else think? I dont want to make a mountain (even with volcanic ash poring out of it) out of a molehill?

I think it is a good idea Molly. Then they can make solid contingency plans just in case.

I texted Mooloo and she seems to be having a nice time although she did say she has been badly bitten by mosquitos and resembles elephant man! Anyway there is no real news re her flight. Stansted airport is still open and might still be tomorrow morning but next update is at 7 so will text her then. Any info you glean please post it!

Thanks Jackie - Molly is wonderful. Not quite herself though hence the ride yesterday. I also have Poppy who is a younger and fatter version of Molly but also beautiful. How is Coco?

Ooh this ash cloud is an awkward beastie - i wish is would just dissipate. It all seem so unpredictable.

Greedy she would eat me out of house and home if I let her! I am resisting booking any sort of holiday at this rate, don't fancy being stuck antwhere with DH being self employed !
