    Its been a long day.
Went to Oxford with twin2, after dropping twin1 at the bus stop, and DGD with my parents. Collected twin2, had to dress the kids first, then it was a straightforward drive to the hospital. Just got there with 7mins to spare, dropped her off at the door, then went to park the car. But the time I got to the department with the baby, they had come out of the doctors! So it was back to the car. We were only 2 mins drive away from DS so we called to see him. had a chat outside the house he was living. (But the woman came out too, so no privacy). Then back home drop her back at her house and go and collect DGD. Then back to collect twin1, from twin2's. Then the shop and home.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden. DGD didnt get a sleep today, so she went to bed pretty well knacked, and missed out on her bath as her head was falling into her dinner.!
I am feeling just about the same. I did too much in the driving, and in the garden with DGD. we planted some spinach and some carrots, and planted out the nasturtiums that were growing in the greenhouse. Twin1 did a lot of digging and sorting for me too.
It was really good to do things together though. So my suffering now was worth it.
I shall be off to bed very soon. I am wilting!.
But I am happy, as I have seen most of my family today, and although I didnt see Biggest of Mooloo, she was on the phone first thing.
Right I am going to relax for a few minutes, and maybe read a few pages of my book, and then go to bed.
    Night all.

Just a quick hello, before the forum closes.
Very tired, and achey for doing the gardening yesterday afternoon.
Its looking like another sunny day here, so I will have to put the gardening first and then housework second!.
Twin1 and DGD are playing plasticine at the moment.
Time for me to slowly, get going. Been on the phone to Biggest of Mooloo's BF's mother, phew, she was on for a while. TAlking about knitting machines/then sewing and then DGD. She knits lovely hand knitted jumpers and is now experimenting with a knitting machine. (Lost mine in the last move. think it ended up going to the tip).
Hope to stay close to home today. But I havent had any calls from twin2 yet.
    Take care all.

  • The tone of your posts about Twin 1 this week seem so positive and sound like she is being helpful around the home, as well as getting involved with her daughter. It's so nice to see you being able to post positively about her being there.

yes she has been a great help actually. Although all her stuff is a mess everywhere! (But thats due to the space and the speed of the move).

I actually ended up going out today. She made arrangements to see one of her friends and they took DGD swimming. They actually had the day out in the end. Which left me free for a few hours and as my best friend was actually not at work today. (She is a nurse). we were able to go mooching around the charity shops etc in Stoney Stratford. We had a lovely time, and the sun helped. We had lunch in a pub. and no I didnt have an alcoholic drink, just a Orange and Passionfruit drink.
But this evening i have opened a bottle of wine. Because I am having a mini celebration all on my own.
Twin1 has put DGD to bed, and then went back to stay with her friend for the weekend.
But my cheque has arrived!. whoopie. Its finally real. they are going to be paying me. I can pay off some of the utilities! yipee yipee yipee. and I can probably get the car serviced! And of course now I will be able to buy things for DGD when she needs them and not have to beg borrow and steal things!.

(Well I never stole anything, its just the saying, honestly.).

Unfortunately its going to be Monday before I can bank it, and the end of the week before its of any use to me. Its just a pity that the bank wont let me have a savings account. I may have to transfer the money to family and get them to save it for me. (Parents not children!!!).

fantastic news. It must be nice just having it in your hand. Glad you had a nice day out x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Clutter thread? That must have been some time ago. Mind you I need to be on it, even more now! my place is definitely cluttered now!.
I think I will have to master the one thing in, one thing out, except maybe it will have to be, one thing in ten out!!!!
Most of the time I am here, or reading the frugal recipes. Sometimes on the sewing room thread, but I sometimes mooch around the board when I am playing on the computer.!

DGD woke up at 7am, wanted to know where Mummy was. So I explained it, she seemed to take it in her stride. But we will have to be aware that its going to be hard for her when Mum does move out properly.

My BF is due to come and see us today. So its a good reason for me to make sure we attack some of the clutter today!.
Mind you I had such a lovely day yesterday, and then coming home to find the cheque in the post just made it an especially special day. I did have to look at it again this morning just to make sure it was real and I hadnt dreamt it, after waiting for it all this time.!
Mind you I will have to remember BF's words. Dont go spending it all.! Cos its so easy to say I can now do this, get that, give this, or that.... I have to be realistic, and still makesure that I keep an emergency fund, so we do not get into such dier straights as we were at the end of last year and the beginning of this one.!
I will still do my shopping carefully, and still buy our clothes etc in the charity shops, as I like the hunt too!. But it does mean that now when something goes wrong we will be able to cover it. (At least I hope so.). But the biggest thing is that I now know that while DGD is here, we will be able to keep our heads above the water now, and not have to rely on my Mum passing me money every other week, or the lovely people who have been helping me with little gifts. I dont have the return addresses of them, so I cannot return the favour at the moment. But I am sure that if the opportunity arises I will be able to contribute to other kindnesses.

It looks like another lovely day. So I shall put my jeans etc on, and get going. (It will be a bit difficult to put washing on the line with my arm complaining, but its just going to have to, as I dont want to tumble dry on a day like this.)

Talking of that, there was a link very early on in the thread where I was pointed to a washing line, that I may have been able to reach, but I couldnt afford it. Perhaps it will be worth going back through the thread and investigating it again? mmmm
    Lots to think about.
Mind you I have managed this far, so I will have to way up the amount of times I need to reach/to the amount of times I cannot manage it, etc etc. Pity I am not a maths wizz, then I could work out the equation or what ever it is, that works out the results!!!

Tired, sore, but been a good weekend with DGD and BF.
Lots of dashing to the potty!
Twin1 went to stay with a friend for the weekend. Supposed to have been her sisters but they had a disagreement.
Twin2 is driving me nuts. But whats new.
I am off to bed now.
Will have to go to town tomorrow to take twin1 (yet again) to sign on, and to do my banking. Maybe a bit of shopping. Nappies and babywipes. Or Pull ups she wants now.
    Washing mountain nearly conquered.
But didnt get to sew again. or is it I am not fit to sew after doing the washing!
BF helped me hang it out etc when he got here/ and did it a few times over the 24 hours he was here. hanging out the last wash before he left this afternoon.

I am looking forward to having a sensible income to survive on, and not the £89 we were. I am also looking forward to not having to borrow off of my parents. When I really couldnt afford to give it back. It was so unfair.

Right I am struggling with my arm, so as I can only move my left arm around 6" from the shoulder, am relying on the elbow and its not liking it anymore.

So I will say goodnight to those on line. (good morning to those who get up before me.)xx

Getting some conflicting advice on the benefits board!. Best I ring up the individual appartments and see if they can help. Dont want to be having to pay back lots of money given to me incorrectly. But it will have to wait until after lunch.
Time to check the bank balance (before the money goes in) and see what we have until Thursday. Rent must be in to go out on Wednesday, and hopefully enough left for petrol today, as the tank is on emptly. Red light! So fast these days.

Twin1 is dying her hair at the moment. Will have to get her to do mine, as I can no longer keep my arm up that high for long enough. After doing my own hair for the last 30 years.
less talk and more action! Time to get a move on. Not such a nice day here so far, but heres hoping that we can get out and hang out the washing done over night.
