A new start for Mooloo

Hi Mooloo,
Really enjoyed our cuppa and chat today despite DGD giving us heart failure:eek: Its lovely to see that things are so much more positive for you and your family and I pray long may that continue xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Well Jo, I think you will need to give "visiting times" and also consider that too many visitors are waring your father out! See if they slow down the amount of times they are visiting, and run out of things for sandwiches!:o:(
Molly, yet again the time went by speedily.
The Social Worker called back around 3.30.
She said she needed to do a police check on me, that they should have done in the beginning of DGD coming to me, but assured me that it would not hold my funding up. Well everything else has hasnt it.!.
I will be checking the man across the road, and seeing if he can fit me a window lock. (He is the landlords DIY person).
DGD and I are having Fishfingers and chips for tea. First time we have had Frozen fingers in the 5 months that I have had her so I think I can be forgiven this once for not doing a proper meal.
Just put a large order of Appr00vd f00ds in. So we will have all the basics of rice, biscuits, crisps and soups etc back in the cupboards and then with the healthy start Vouchers that I have we will not need to buy very much more stuff for a while. (I hope, famous last words.).
With any luck my funding will come soon. Positive thinking here!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

A few men who are not relatives are calling every day and stay about 3 hours! This evening one of those men just walked in the front door and into the room, study, Dad was in. I would have had the door locked but there was another visitor in at the time. He never knocked the door, rang the bell or asked if he could go to where Dad was or anything. Needless to say I am fuming. He also questioned my father last night, when I was getting his tablets, about who owed the car on the street. Dad said it was mine and hubbys but the man kept questioning him because he knew it wasn't one of ours. In the end up Dad had to tell him ours was away to get fixed because we were involved i a car accident. Nosey so and so!!
My temper is as high as it can possibly get at the moment.
BTW you are doing fantastic with your DGD and fish fingers and chips will not do her any harm.0 -
I have to say I am :rotfl: at Mooloo's advice to Jo, which I can only echo. Listen to yourself! :rotfl:
But Jo, yes, you do have to be firm, and suggest that if it's all too much for Mum she puts visiting hours on the front door!
And I've just read your last post Jo, I too would be boiling over!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Hi Mooloo my niece goes to a pre school full time. Children from two go there maybe there is a similar one by you. It costs forty two pounds per week plus extra for lunch. It may be a bit more if they are younger than three as they get part funding.0

Jo4, maybe your mum could put a chain on the door, and then uninvited guests cannot just walk in. Also maybe consider a note on the door saying that only invited guests will be admitted on Dr's orders, as your dad is not getting enough rest, as I am sure his Dr would not be happy with that level of visitors.0 -
Oh Sue, I have started toughening up honestly!
I have always been able to give good advice! Just not good at following it myself!:(
When I used to live on the big housing estate, everyone was at my door for help with this or that, from the strangers kids with the broken arm, to neighbours wanting me to read letters from the school, to going to the council to help with housing issues, and filling in forms!!
I just got a bit bogged down in things these last 3 years!.
I agree though that Jo4 your Mum must stand firm, and reduce the number of visitors, and you dont have to feed them!!! Visitors are supposed to bring grapes/fruit arent they? :rotfl: If they all did that you could be feeding Dad smoothies!!! Nobody can recover with such a high volume of visitors.
How far away do you live from your parents? Could you not go home during the week and come back for the weekends,? Just to give mum the odd day off?
When you started to mention about the car, I was wondering if the visitor had his eyes on the car, in a more sinister way for a minute! Nosey old Sodd!!
My sewing lessons for today have been cancelled, but I am going to still get DGD's Mum over, and then I am going to do some Sewing of myown. Been itching to sew for days.
The weather is not looking so good today. hope its a bit better later as I have a couple of bedsets in the washing machine, ready to hang out. (Gifts from my Uncle who got married recently and has moved in with his new wife, and clearing out his place. Couple very plain white bedsets which suit me fine!.)
DGD is watching Timmy time, that stops her in her tracks from the non stop chatter that is her usual day!. (Must remember that for future reference!).
I slept better last night, went to bed for around 10pm and didnt wake until 6am (to go to the loo!). Longest sleep I have had in a very long time. Did try to go back to sleep, but my head was doing calculations, thinking about things etc etc etc so I didnt manage to. Got up with DGD when she woke at 7am.
Collecting Mum from town about 9.30. Although if I had seen the cancellation I could have changed it to later. But never mind. It will get me going.
My left arm is not so good today, as I hurt it "wrestling" with DGD yesterday afternoon trying to get her into her car seat, when she was determind not to get into the car! Terrible twos tantrum in the middle of the ddrive first. Not so good side of being unwell with a toddler!.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I sympathise mooloo my arm is bothering me today too, after a period of being quite good..grrr, mind you all the gardening and the new allotment may have something to do with that.
My doctor has referred me for occupational therapy as the pain management plan he has me on now is fantastic and i almost feel normal!!!(Gabapentin and Meloxicam) no more woosiness either.
Things look to be improving all round for you as far as the family goes, hope you get your funding soon. Approved foods is great isn't it there are loads of things on there at the minute i would like but we just have no more room .......we are all couscoused out as hubby keeps reminding me , i have even filled our caravan with AF packets and tins! which made for a very cheap break. When we move to a rural area i think AF will become my local supermarket as i am spoiled here with all the major supermarkets and several ethnic grocers(indian, chinese, polish) within a 3 mile radius maybe thats not a bad thing , and afterall i will be visiting relatives here still!!
have a good day

Hope the tax credits are sucessful in backdating them.
My circs changed in nov last year but didnt get form submitted and paid out till mid march this year and hvae just received the back dated 93 days in my account today. It was very welcome!
Took less than a week for payment so may be worth calling again to check and see if they are paying it out?:j Debt-Free-Wannabe! :jDeclutter/Ebay/Savings0 -
Well todays post brings me a reminder I have to Pay my contents insurance. and a form from SS about Kinship care.
I want to celebrate, but I still have not received anymoney yet. The good news is its £133.84 a week, which includes £36.61 personal/pocketmoney/clothing allowance for DGD. And there is a £401.52 holiday grant!!!! So it was/is going to have been well worth my arguing with them to pay me!.
Of course it may not be forever, but at the moment it will be a godsend. I will be able to pay for the utilities bills that we have racked up, and it means I can take her away on holiday too.! No more having to rob peter to pay paul. Thankgod.
So when she needs a new coat etc, I will have the money now. (Well soon I hope,).
I have a bankers mandate to fill in, so at least its getting closer.
DGD and Mum, (twin1) are with twin2 in Towcester at the moment. I am just back home, after doing a few things I needed to do,and stopping and having a cuppa with my parents, and visiting the housing options team.
So I will go back for them later.
Time for me, seems very strange!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
