P.s. Jo4, hope things are improving for you.
Your in my thoughts,
Mooloo
Thanks Mooloo! I don't know where in your day you managed to get the time to think of me!
Dad got transferred from one hospital to another on Friday 26th March but he was supposed to be there for a week but they let him home on Monday 29th March. My hubby & I have had to stay night and day with Mum & Dad since as Dad doesn't want us going home apart from to get a change of clothes, collect post etc. He had a sick stomach on Thursday and Friday of last week but on Sunday he took a slice of bread, the first time since his operation 4 weeks ago. He sleeps for an hour at night, then he remains awake for a while and then he might sleep another hour. The doctor prescribed sleeping tablets for him today so fingers crossed we all get a couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep tonight. However, I hope he is on the mend and we get home again soon as I miss my own corner!
I am glad you sound more positive and that the twins are getting sorted. Fingers crossed you will get time to do the things you like doing, your sewing, time for yourself & bf, etc. Take care!0 -
Mooloo, don't knock time in the car with teenagers. It's an excellent, non-threatening time to talk, it's not face to face and they can't escape! :rotfl:
Did I tell you about the "I've got a lump on my testicle" conversation with one of mine? That was in the car. Gee, thanks son ... isn't that what you've got a father for? Nothing serious, as it turned out.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Morning,
Jo4, I still have a lot of time to think! sometimes its too much time. Especially when the body is worn out,but the brain keeps on going!. Sometimes they do seem to send people home from hospital far too early. Then it is harder for the family/carers that have to be at the invalids beck and call. I hope that Dad is soon sleeping and that the small amounts of food gradually build up. Remember you need to care for yourself too. (Or you will end up like I was just before Easter!!)
Sue, no you never mentioned your sons Lump!! Glad that it was not anything serious though. We didnt talk that much, as he had his Ipod on!. (Grabbed back from the twins, who are now moaning they dont have it anymore!).
But he has housing benefit coming through for the second family he is now living with, and his benefits are supposed to be through on Wednesday he thinks. He said that the woman is going to help him budget!. Well that will be interesting as I have tried to teach them all budgeting all thier lives, but they are all as bad as each other. Well nearly all.
I looked at a sewing pattern for childrens clothes that I picked up in a charity shop a few months ago, and was going to cut it out of some random clothing yesterday, but DGD was late to bed and still playing in the bedroom gone 9pm so I didnt get around to it. Perhaps if she has a sleep during the day today, I might manage it.
Re the Tax credits, I shall ask why its not dated back, but I only asked from the 8th March, becuase I know TWin1 was claiming it, so I can't go back to when DGD came or her Mum will end up with a big tax bill to pay back. But back to the 8th is 11 days so would be quite a bit more money. (Well anything over £20 seems a good abit to me these days!).
Today is the village coffee shop day, so hopefully Molly41 is coming over and we will all go for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
Biggest of Mooloo rang last night, we chatted for about half an hour.. She has taken on a different Bar job, which means that she will not have DGD on a Friday anymore, but thats fine. She is stopping the other job at the club, so its just different days now. Giving her a free Saturday and Sunday! Meaning that when she does have DGD to give me a break, the time limits are different thats all.
Ha watching GMTV and its about a fashion item about a 47 year old whats to wear. As she looks about the same size as me, I am interested! Oh to have some thing fashionable!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning! Thanks Mooloo. I hope you enjoy your cuppa and slice of cake.
I mentioned this morning to my Mum that I think hubby & I could go home possibly tomorrow as all I seemed to be doing was helping her & Dad, doing dishes, making tea for all the visitors, answering phone etc. and it would be nice for them to get the house back to themselves. She said I was keeping her sane! Some days we have 30+ visitors which is a lot of tea/coffee/sandwich making and talking for Mum without keeping the fire going etc. Even when it was 18 degrees at the weekend Dad still had to have a fire.
Enjoy your day whatever you manage to achieve with it.0 -

Jo, I think you need to be firm, and to tell the Visitors, to do their own cups of tea and slices of cake. I presume they are all relatives? Take one or two of them to one side, and tell them that you need to get back to your own life, etc, that you will be back in a few weeks,(days- depending on the distance), and ask one of them to keep an eye on Mum!
The longer you stay the longer she will rely on you, and the harder it is to let go!.
The medical profession are there to care for Dad, Presume he can have nurses etc visiting, and if not get the Occupational Health people to come out and assess what he needs. And what Mum needs.
Good luck. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Tax credits will look into back dating it for me, until the 8th March and let me know.
DGD has just woken up better go, she managed to open a window earlier.! EekWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
DGD is only 2 1/2years old, so it will be October when she is 3. But the school only takes them in from the following September, so thats another 18 months or so!
Mooloo if the school nursery has places, they sometimes do an early intake in the January. DS was 3 in the December and started School Nursery in the January. Just a thought.0 -
Mooloo
the 3 yr old funding is first eligible in the term after the child turns 3 this can be spent at any nursery/playschool as longas they are ofsted inspected , it doesn't have to be the local school .........that is unless things have changed very recently?

Thanks! No, there are as many friends visiting as there are relatives. Dad only has a nurse calling in the morning and the doctor about every 3 or 4 days. The nurse said today that she will not be back until Thursday so tomorrow will be the first day that there has been no nurse arriving first thing in the morning.
Enjoy the rest of your day, I am off to make tea and sandwiches again as more visitors have arrived!0
