A new start for Mooloo

Re the 'decor'. She should push hard for a decorating allowance
Re the curtain rails . Dunno if you have a drill, if not buy a packet of large cuphooks as you can use one to make screw holes in wood for the rail screws
She is allowed £90 worth of decorating vouchers, still to be recieved for Homebase as there is a local store. Biggest of Mooloo is going to take control of them, and makesure that Twin2 only buys what is needed and not anything silly with it. She will help her to decorate I think, as she likes that!.
Although there is a difference of Opinion over the cerise kitchen! Biggest and I like it, but twin2 doesnt. Pity, as then we would only have to buy a matchpot and cover the filling with it!!
Re the curtainrails, I will see if she can get them, but for the meantime I am going to let her have my old shower pole/tension type, and my darker shower curtain, and put them across the front window, so she at least has some privacy there, until the vouchers come through.
Once we know how far the vouchers can go, we can see what else is needed.
With the furniture, we are hoping that she will be able to get the Care in the community grant. Have the forms, the Bromford Housing girl gave them to her last week.
But I dont know how long they take, as when I applied, (and failed) they said that it was about 6 - 8 weeks before they dealt with the applications, due to backlog. Hopefully they are not so deluged!
I have managed to get my Ex husband to come out of the woodwork and help twin2 with a van today, and tomorrow, after he finishes work. So he will collect her from here at 4pm and then I will just have to cope with the 3 kids here, while they go and load up etc. Lets hope I dont have to do any of the frantic driving around as I thought.
I wish the funding would come through, as its all robbing peter to pay paul, and I hate that. But at least when it does come in we will be able to pay the electric bill! This weekend looks like all the electric heaters have been on, while I was away, rather then the log fires, that I have already paid for!
Right I really must get on. I am still not dressed, although we have all had breakfast and everyone else is now dressed and or showered. Just me to go.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I hope the moving in goes as smoothly as possible!.
I cant remember if you have mentioned this before but have you got a local freecycle?. If you have ,you could put in requests for all the stuff twin2 and the dgs's need and save her some money.JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Mooloo, I know you have to wait a while for SS to sort out the back payments, but surely now they've agreed you're entitled to an allowance, they should start paying you the weekly amount immediately?
Also, and I'm not sure who actually instigated this now, but when my son moved from a hostel into his own flat he was allowed to choose new furniture from an Argos catalogue, and they were very generous in what they allowed him to have! It could have been MIND who sorted that out for him, I'm not sure. I wonder if there's anything similar you could find for Twin2?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
We seem to be in a "void" around here for being pointed in the right direction! thank god for MSE ! is all I can say.
I shall see if we can follow up with some of the leads given, again. See where we stand this time.
Twin1 is in crisis again today. She has run out of money, and now it seems food. so I have to go and see what she is on about. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I just rung the SW and she is going to chase up the Kinship team about my funding. Will get back to me later in the week. Have asked her to reserect the referral forms to Adult services for Twin1.
Twin2 and I are running around like headless chickens with the two 2year olds! They are running us ragged.
I went for an hours lie down, but it didnt really do me any good. One of them slept DGS, but DGD has been on the go all the time!.
Now I am going to see if I can get on Freecycle and see if there is anything near by.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo I haven't caught up yet but just wanted to tell you I have successfully removed biro from many things in the past with hairspray. Try in a place that does not show first. Just spray it on and wipe with a clean cloth and repeat as many times as necessary using a clean part of the cloth each time then wipe over with a soapy cloth and rinse. You can then use leather polish or whatever you usually use.
Going to catch up now..
Sorry just read that jackieglasgow had the idea first.0 -
Some of the biro has come off using hairspray. thanks guys. I will have another go again later, but the rubbing is difficult with my arm! So not enough elbow grease!!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Well I have been on Freecycle, for a few surrounding towns too. Have put in a request for a Sofa that was on three different sites, and a request for a cooker, but thats a long shot.
Then I just put one in wanted, for furniture. Will check tomorrow and see if I get any replies. Fingers crossed.
I am so tired that I am going to have to go to bed. Night all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Fingers crossed mooloo!

Hi Mooloo, haven't been on in ages as I haven't been well, have been back to hospital and have to have another op next month. So much has happened! You are so strong to keep going through all this and your children and grandchildren are so lucky to have you. I am so glad the tests on the children were all clear- I would love to have seen the SW's faces when they were told! I hope they pull all the stops out now and get you the money they owe you (I know that it really should be so much more but at least it's start!) I hope things go smoothly for a few weeks now so that you can catch your breath and reclaim your well-being.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
