Lets hope by the time we get to post 2000! we are there and all is well in the Mooloo family!.
i am running late again. I have to drive to Twin1, leave DGD there, drive to twin2, and then back to Towcester to view the new house, then take twin2 and kids back to her place, and drive back to twin1 to collect DGD and come back home!! I am exhausted just thinking about it all.
    And thats just this morning.!!

Right better go and get some socks on my feet! Then dress DGD, as we really need to think about being on our way. My body doesnt like being kicked into gear so fast!

If I am not on here for a few days its becuase I am trying to organise childcare/babysitting stuff, while organising twin2 to be packed and moved, and I am away Friday to Monday in the middle of that! What fun.

Form about Childbenefit just arrived in the post. Not sure I am entitled to it, if I get local authority funding now. but will send it off anyway. when I find the address for the local authority, office the relevant SW is in. Better not forget to post it back too!

I can't see why you wouldn't get it. Child benefit is universal and for the child. Kinship Care payments are for the Carer IYSWIM.
Agree with Errata, whoever the child is living with should get the CB, regardless of what else they're getting.

Also wrt ESA etc, are you on the Jobseekers kind still or did you move to the 'not having to look for work right now' kind? I think if it's the latter then the kinship payments wouldn't matter, but as you know the benefits board people would know better.

Great news about everything else. Now don't knock yourself up getting twin2 moved - she has a SW, the SW knows she needs help to get packed and moved, as do the hostel! And I bet they're used to having rooms left in a not exactly lettable state, so do not feel YOU have to clean!

We have the keys, we can take possession now!
so I am off to get some boxes across to twin2, while twin1 has DGD.
Then I will get her some gas/electric on the cardmeters/ and some lightbulbs!
she will need curtain poles and carpets etc etc.
I can make the curtains with whats kicking around here, I think. But now I better be off and see about my cup of tea before I load the car up.

Yipee its a lovely little house.

Well I am home now, I didnt stop home more than 5 minutes at lunchtime. I put the carseats down, and took the big boxes over to twin2. then i went to the Post office to get her cards topped up. Then I did stop off at the BHF furniture place but they didnt have anything in that we would be able to afford, so Twin2 will have to sit on the boxes!!!
I went to collect DGD from her mum, and brought them both back with me, via MrT. Bought a basics microwave for twin2, as hers has blown up, and of course there is no cooker in the new place. So she will have to use microwave meals until the workers help her get the things she needs.
I have a spare chair that might fit into the car, that we could take over for her to use but I think we will have to wait to see what the key workers can come up with for her.
The light bulbs are in. Tomorrow Biggest of Mooloo and I will see what we can do to help before we go away for the weekend. But for tonight I am very tired, and I also must reserve my energies. Luckily Twin2 is here to help me with DGD and to help with the care of the kids tomorrow, while we are moving things etc etc.

It cost me £47 to fill up the car with petrol and i have done over 120 miles today already!. It would be really handy if I could actually start to get some money sooner rather then later.
Now I am going to see what we can have for our tea, and see if we can get settled in early for the night.

At least you know that more money is on the way. Relax and enjoy moving your daughter into new, suitable accommodation. Just hope that she manages to keep it clean & tidy. Maybe a simple cleaning rota? Just a thought, but how does she manage with healthy meals? Would a healthy meals rota help her too? I'm thinking everything down from breakfast, snacks and drinks for the whole day. It may make things simpler for her. Take care and enjoy your weekend! x
  • Hi mooloo,

hope you have a lovely weekend. Found this, it's from 2006 so not sure how current, but I am not aware of major changes in foster care since then. Not my area of expertise though I'm afraid.

Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.
