    Hi Mooloo
They have the toddler steps in Tesco for £3, hope that helps
    Hester

Hello, unfortunately our tesco is not big enough to have them in, and I cannot order from tesco on line as they do not accept visa electron. However I can say that a kind person on here is sending me one in the post at the moment. :T:A

    Mooloo,
I hope you are coping in the snow. I must live quite close to you so if I can help you in anyway please let me know. Good luck and have a lovely christmas.
    Hugs,
    Mollyx

Hello Molly, I am coping reasonably well, as I was lucky that the wood was delivered the day the snow started. Its just being a bit ill has stalled all of our plans. Never got to go to Oxford to see BF, and now dont know when I will get to see him, certainly wont be this side of Christmas as he is waiting for his heating system to be fixed and one of his sons has just come back from University for the festive period.::rolleyes:

I am going to venture out a bit later today, and collect Twin1' for the holidays. I am hoping that we can have a little bit of time together to work out how we are actually going to make this terrible time work for us, and of course DGD.:D
Biggest of Mooloo has her until tomorrow. So we can make DS's old bedroom ready for her, and they can both use that room.
This will free up my bedroom, and allow me to have my space. Bit more cramped with my sewing things etc divided between my bedroom and the cupboard under the stairs!.

Social Services let us down (How unusual), they didnt deliver either the stairgate that was promised, 2 weeks ago, or the Hamper that they were to deliver yesterday. I realise that it is not the best of weathers but they could have at least made a phone call and told us that they were unable to deliver etc etc.
I was so angry last night, well at 5.30, that I telephoned them, got the answer machine of course, and left a message saying that I am unhappy, that they have let us down, and that I will be writing a letter of complaint. I also said that I expect a telephone call back today!. So we will see if they do.

I think that there is no excuse for not at least phoning us and saying sorry, snowed in!. We could understand that, but not to contact at all, is just not good enough in my book. It is now 4 Weeks since they brought DGD back to me, and I have had £20 from them and empty promises.

I am beginning to hear of plenty of people who like me, are family and have taken in the relatives, only to be left with nothing.

We are saving the system thousands of pounds, we are following the Childrens act and trying to keep the family unit as close together as possible, but all of us are loosing out financially etc. They are actually putting these children into Poverty in a lot of cases!. Is this the system that the country is expecting of our Social Services? God alone knows because I really do not!.

But it is the season of good will, and I am going to make the best of it for the children/grandchildren as I can.

I will probably have an horendous electric bill at the end of the year, but at the moment, its about keeping warm. The bathroom and the kitchen are cold, so we are spending as little time as possible inthem!. But I have a plug in electric heater on low in the hall upstairs, and in the other bedroom, so that we keep the chill off of the house.! When DGD is back it will have to be on longer. So I will be trying to off set the costs by having a few more NSD's, and trying to sell a few things off on Ebay in the new year. (I know I have planned to do it so often but never did, but I will have to be brave and get organised to photograph things, and get them wheighed etc and work out the postage! ).

I would just like to thank:T everyone that has offered me such moral support. I have found a lot of helpful advise, a lot of "back bone" has come from the replies etc. I do wonder if I would have been so strong if I had not started this thread, and the last one when the grandchildren were born!).

I hope that everyone here has a wonderful christmas, and are able to see their families etc and that the weather doesnt cause too much havoc!.:xmastree::xmassign::snow_laug

Well what a day. I am exhausted.
I did have a slowly relaxing start, with my teasmade etc etc. Then after a phonecall from/too social services they admitted that our SW is off sick. They were sending out a parcel for us, but didnt know my address etc. Then as I was talking to them a man arrived with a parcel of toys and a carrier bag of food. So they had sent it too us!. However the stairgate had been forgotten and so I ended up driving the 30miles to collect it from them!. But HORRAY finally we have a stairgate and some extra little presents for DGD.
I would also like to say thankyou to those of you who so kindly sent me a PM and a little help for DGD. The kindness is so touching. DGD will have a good Christmas now, and I was able to put fuel into the car to get the stairgate and to pick up Mum.
I have a few things to help Mum pack now ready for the big day.
I may not be with my BF, but at least I will have the company of twin1 and DGD.

I saw the other twin2, and her BF, and DGS. I was surprised to hear that they are letting DGS go to his other family on boxing day for 2 weeks!!
(Pitty that that couldnt have been arranged for the middle of January when the new baby is due to arrive!)>But I suppose you cannot have everything!.

Hi Mooloo, I'm sorry to hear your troubles are continuing. Is the idea that you will have DGD permanently? And is her sister coping with her little boy, and do you think they will be OK with the new baby too? You have an incredible amount on your plate.
