Trying to help my Dad:-)

Hi frugal,
My brother has checked them out and he seems happy!
Just wondered if any one has experience of them.
Dad is 80 and we are so far away, so he does need some other help.
Thanks

25 seems really steep to me too:idea:0

Hi aliEnRIK,

This a link to their contracts page, could you have a look at it for me please.
I just don`t know what to do now!
My brother is in the US, he says he has spoken to the MD and they are sound.
Please advise!
Thanks Suzanne0 -
If your brother says theyre sound then theyre probably sound. My only point was it does sound a tad steep:idea:0

Thanks again Everyone

Looks like that contract offers only 2 on-site call outs for £300 a year... jeez!0

Thanks Fonz,
Yes it is a bit steep, but when we are so far away we can`t help him.
Brother has re-assured me this company are ok. So we will just have to wait and see.
Thanks everyone for your input.

Maybe for next year you could enrol your dad on a course at the local college or something to teach him the basics on the Internet. Then if you set up his antivirus to scan regularly, make sure he has a firewall, and install 'logmein' so you can access his computer when you're away, most problems should be automatically dealt with. £300 a year plus at least £120 for Internet seems a lot of money: I wonder if he's actually getting £420 of use of the Internet; it might be better to go back to letters and the phone!0 -
Thanks David333,
Dad is 80(go dad), he has been on a course, which did`nt really help him!
I have set up antivirus(Avira and superanti spyware).
I am assuming `logmein` is the remote access thing?
I agree its a lot of money, usually I can organise a visit before he gets too fed with being Offline:-)
Will have to wait until I visit next to see how he is getting along.
Thanks again

Yeah, it's a free remote access thing which obviously assumes he's on the Internet but you could show him some things rather than trying to talk him through them on the phone. It's an option anyway... .0
