A friend of mines parents spent £300 on some nappies v good quality re-useable nappies for them, and when the twins came she just coudnt get on with them, and keep with the ahsing etc.. I think twins had a big part to play, but she felt really dissapointed with herself that she couldnt get to grips with them, which she shouldnt have, so she sold them on e-bay in the end for a lot less money..

This is my biggest fear or I'll go the opposite way and won't want to give up so end up with so much washing to do

We used cloth nappies previously, but had freecycled them all last year, as (due to health problems) we didn't think we'd be able to have another baby. Our council does have a nappy scheme (£35 reimbursed if you buy £50 worth of cloth nappies), but I think we're just going to stick with disposable, after much debating back and forth on it. Might have gone with cloth again if we were looking at having more babies in a few years, but we're not.

Hey all.. dont know if you daytime lot saw last night but I had my 20 week scan, i'm 20+6 and everything is as it should be which is great... and re sex they think its a girl ekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Hi nanc how do you feel about this? I REALLY want another boy but the more i think about it the more i try to see the positives in having a girl so i don't feel disappointed if it is!

For me, the positives of having a boy: brother for DS, they can share rooms so we won't need to move, can get nephews old stuff (hehe), i prefer boys!
Positives of having a girl: I'd have 1 of each, OH would have 2 of each (inc my DS), Nana would have 2 of each, new experience... I am not girly i don't know how to handle little girls - my niece is a pita sometimes but DS and nephew are angels lol.

Very true, Nicki. And thanks, Aless.

I think when I've finished the nursery and gone on maternity leave I'll have more time to think about it. I don't know if things were easier or worse in my mum's day when all you could buy were towelling squares!

    Thanks, triggles.

We are thinking of having more than 1 that's why i thought reusuables would be a good investment. I have badgered our council but they stopped the £50 incentive scheme a couple of years ago. But i'm on their list if they ever start up again.

I haven't been in 8/10 since before i was pg with DS! Since then i've gone from 10/12 to 12/14 now i'm not even getting into anymore 12's :(

Nope not told family - i did tell one friend though as i'd been avoiding her when having morning-feeling-sickness so i didn't want her to think i was making excuses so told her!! She is from another town though and doesn't know any of my other friends :D

How do I feel really, please dont judge me but its personal preference and i know totally selfish.. But I defo dont want anymore children this is the first and last and always wanted a boy should it ever happen.. I cried when the scan lady told me, the room went quiet hubbys face dropped and my sister laughed, but we're ok...

I couldnt really talk about it at work, everyone knew i wanted a boy.. its first girl on Hubbys family's side so they are v v happy.

We're going to have a 4D scan though to double double check.. then I can breathe and get on with everything.

Sorry if I offend anyone, I know I should be lucky to be in this situation, as many cant.. but we very nearly werent and I've set the bar so high for perfection Im going crazy.. phew

    I can totally empathise, Nancmat.

I really wanted a girl and thought at first I was having one and then about a month before the scan I knew I was having a boy. I cried when I was told, too. It's hard not to. I almost wish I hadn't found out at first but 2 weeks later I'm glad I did and I'm happy to be having a boy.
