  • I've applied through Apple Finance, had the email from BPF which says that they have made a decision, signed in using the link and the password and it says they are still reviewing it.

I rang up earlier yesterday, prior to receiving this email, to be told it was with an underwriter and the decision would be made shortly. After I got this email and saw it was still pending I rang them back asked what was going on and got told that it hadn't been reviewed yet. Very confussed and keep getting told different time scales, they told me 72 hours last night!

  • Well knock me down with a feather.

After having 8 defaults when having a very bad time in the mid noughties and letting all my finances fall apart. I have been accepted by Barclays partner finance for a mac (which I intend to use for my uni course) I'm astounded because I have 4 defaults left on Experian (2 from british gas and 1 from virgin media which irritates me as they defaulted me 3 months after I left the property for £39 that I didn't know about), although nothing is left on Equifax.

I have been really good with credit cards, paying them all off in full on time, have no overdrafts, making sure my mobile phone is paid on time.

I don't know what made me try, I suppose I needed it and knew I could afford the payments.

I need to now make sure this is paid on time every month and will be watching like a hawk for no missed DD's, as I've been 8 years being punished for previous mistakes and want to apply for a mortgage in 2015!

The catalogue Very are excellent for Apple products, I have ordered the new ipad air and it is the EXACT price if you go via an Apple shop.
I put in on a buy now pay later plan and have one year to pay up with no interest.

Plus if you are new to Very you get 10% off your first order.
Having read some posters have been declined for a loan via Barclay's finance. Very maybe not as strict in criteria:j
  • Hi
Ive been accepted for 0% finance for a 5S which was last Monday 16th and immediately sent off the paperwork using the freepost address. Nothing has changed online so wondered if anyone has any idea how long the process takes from sending ID proof by post to Barclays and receiving order/delivery confirmation from Apple?

    Thanks

I have had a look at Very; 10% off and cash back via Quidco sounded enticing but it mentioned the 10% off doesn't include computers so does anyone know if the iPad falls under this category?

    Thanks!

Just to let anyone know: yesterday I applied for finance over 24 months for an IPad Air.

I honestly didn't think that I would be accepted as I have one default on my credit file from 2010 and have only just had another default drop of my file in Jan this year that was for money I owed to BARCLAYS!! ( I was 18 and naive and got into debt. I'm crazily money savvy now and wouldn't dare risk a payment).

Anyway, I applied & was very doubtful; the guy on the phone said my application had been referred. 5 mins later Barclays phoned me and asked me security questions etc, a bit like an interrogation.

They even asked me to state what my notice of correction says on my experian credit file!!

They told me I would be emailed a decision in 10 mins. I got off the phone and there was an email, I had to click in the email and answer more security questions and then it told me I was accepted! :) I am shocked, but happy as this time 2 years ago it would have been a straight decline. I have received an email from Apple and my iPad is coming on the 6th as it's bank holiday weekend.

    Edit:

And I never had to send paperwork to Barclays as others have suggested, it allowed me to electronically sign.

  • Sorry to drag up an old thread with a first post.

Have been looking at a mac for a while, since my old laptop decided it didn't want to work anymore, spotted on Monday that Apple offer 0% finance for 12months, got the cash to pay for it outright but £83/month just feels better £999 in one whallop, jump forward, this morning I decided to go for it and applied online. 25 minutes later "Sorry" with note suggesting checking my experian credit rating. £14.99 later it turns out my credit rating is good (I'm not on the electoral role at my new address yet), put in a call to the number given on the first email I got this morning no concrete response to why I was declined but offered that I should re-apply and be very careful with what I put on the application.

So I did, this time over the phone, very carefully made sure everything was correct and I repeated everything I said and the guy on the other end also repeated 25 minutes later the phone rings and it's Barclays with some follow up questions which obviously I answered correctly (they did ask about my credit card limit - I don't have a credit card). Then 10 minutes later email pings "Sorry"! I've never had credit refused before and I've never missed a payment on anything I've borrowed, can't work this one out!

Oh well saved me £1000 on machine I probably won't get the full use of anyway!

You can get your credit report for £2. No need to pay £14.99.

Your not on the electoral roll. So your rating by apple finance is poor.

Experian may say its good but they wont lend you money.

Have to agree, being on the electoral roll is a huge deal.
Don't keep sending in applications, it dents your rating.
