Daughter caught us having sex....

Tell my Mum??? Oh no!
My Mum will flip at me, and say how useless I am, she suspects me at best of being a god fearing heathen,
In my mother's world sex stops after children are produced, It is a duty not a necessity.
I know this as she explained this to me when i was pregnant, she said at least I had the sex part over and done with and wouldn't have to bother with the nonsense again!!!
Incredible. And you said earlier that Mum is 68, not 108?? And she's a churchgoer - well, so am I, so is DH, and we haven't got that kind of outlook although we're a little bit older than she is.
What you write above reminds me of the thinking of an earlier generation. I seem to have heard those kind of sentiments from my late MIL (from my first marriage) and she was born in 1904. Before efficient contraception, sex really was a 'chore' for many women, especially poorer folk who really dreaded having another child that they couldn't afford to feed. There was not much fun or joy in it then, but it's different now.
'Wouldn't have to bother with that nonsense again' - how does she think people have the second and subsequent children??Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Oh gosh this has brought back vivid memories of me barging into my parents room and catching them at it, but they were doing the other thing..down there!
I pretended I didn't see as it was dark, but it put me off the sandwich I had just prepared. I'm now happy because I've tricked my brain into thinking all that stuff is behind them.
As for the dog being in the room, I have a budgie and can't even have sex with her in the room, she tries to fly on us all the time and having a budgie perched on my OH butt just doesn't do it for me, him? he's not so bothered. :rotfl:
I wouldn't worry, she'll get over it.,
maybe my mind isn't switched on but i don't get what you mean?:o:o
We all deserve the SAME respect regardless of however many posts you have to your name0 -

This thread has had me laughing!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I'm 22 and my OH is 26 but his dad lives with my him he just walks in on us all the time. I was dressed in my pj's this weekend but my OH sleeps naked and he walked in and said oh sorry I'll let you carry on with what you was up to!!:o
Your daughter will come round eventually kids are like that, just leave it alone and don't say anything you might embarrass her.

This is a fantastic thread! i agree with Shoppaholic.
I also agree with everyone who said:
Your daughter is a drama queen. I cannot believe she barged into your room. I would have slapped her face there and then. Sorry to sound harsh, but I bet that she would have slapped yours would you dare to walk into her room without knocking.
As for your mother - just because she doesn't like sex doesn't mean that you shouldn't like it either. Or that she should be expecting you to!! It's like - My mother doesn't eat lamb. I give her the courtesy of it not being cooked when she is coming or before (lamb still smells in the kitchen at least an hour after). Just because she gave birth to me does not give her the right to tell me off because I eat it.
I know this is very much simplified, but the principle is the same.0
