Daughter caught us having sex....

I think you have to actually be firm with her and tell her top stop acting like such a child. So she heard her parents having sex, most would have ran into their bedroom and shoved a pillow over their ears (it's what I used to do). She was totally out of order barging into your bedroom and she has to be told that. How can she expect you to respect her private space if she won't respect yours?
I once caught my mother, as noddy put it, 'noshing' a stranger when her and my dad were on a break. Not the most pleasant thing to see and I was disgusted but I'm hardly scarred by it! What my parents got/get upto is their own business.0 -
I've a feeling she won't tell her nan. If she's as embarrassed about it as she seems I don't think she would want to discuss it with Nan. ROFLMAO!
This story just gets better and better!!
We have to make sure the dogs are shut out of the bedroom when we are 'at it!'.
My H used to be like this when we had a cat. Bless her she was very elderly cat but she used to get launched off the bed if she was watching :rotfl:
Your daughter is being a drama queen. Ignore her behaviour. If she goes running tales to your mum then you can tell her to mind her own business too. What goes on between the two of you is private. It's about time your daughter realised this. Listening outside doors and barging in is rude. I would be asking her how she would like the same "courtesy" applied to her personal space.
She'll get over it. My parents in their early 60's and it's a standing joke that they always seem to have their leg over when my mum has changed the sheets. I am pleased they have a healthy sex life.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Tell her at 14 she isn't leaving home without your permission so tough luck she stuck with you and your bedroom antic's.
She has no right to barge into your room, especially as she waiting outside for you to resume activitys so tbh i wouldn't be worried about what she thinks at this point, i'd be more upset about the fact that she barged in and made you feel bad about doing something natural and normal.
Infact i'd go as far to say that rather than feeling like you need to appologise you need to set her straight about what is and isn't acceptable behaviour on her part, she is the child ... remeber she can't move out unless you say it's ok.
Tell her to pack in acting like a child and deal with the fact that YES you are her mother and YES you do like and enjoy a quick tumble occasionally.
Yes it's embarressing for any teen, i walked in on my mum and dad quite a few times, and yes its gross but i would never have behaved that way... knowing my mum she would have said something classy like "well seeing as you know about it, no point in us trying to keep the noise down anymore"This months aim :- Stick to food Budget / find £100 for my car insuranceMay GC :- £250/£234.55 :T:A:TJune GC :- £150/£127.37:eek:0 -
I never caught or heard my parents, but I knew as soon as I found out about sex that they must do it. That fact was confirmed when my mother got pregnant with my little brother when I was 11. My mother explained the facts of life to me and had said that she and Dad made love, as that was something you did to express your love to one another when you were in a happy relationship.
Despite all this, I remember that the thought of sex between anybody made me feel physically scared and sick until I actually had it myself at 17.
I'm not sure why this was - perhaps it was because other than the birds and the bees talk my parents never spoke of sex or anything related to it ever again and whenever sex was mentioned on TV or in a film it was turned off. Perhaps I was over-protected and I ended up thinking sex was dirty and naughty. Thankfully I got over it!
I know that I would have felt sick as well if I'd caught my parents doing it, but for starters I would never have burst into their room! I'm guessing she heard the bed (definitely get this changed) and stood outside to confirm her suspicions. She's probably not got a problem with knowing you have sex, but more with the fact that she had to hear it, which she obviously did.
It's never nice to hear somebody having sex when you're trying to sleep and this is worse when it's your parents, let's face it.
So I do understand her reaction, but a lot of it is entirely her fault and she should have been more mature about it and just mentioned it to you the next day.

i don't know.. my friend did that once trying to have a sneaky session while she was still living with her parents (at about 22 uni summer term) didn't realise her mum was painting the ceiling belowe her room... when she went down stairs her mum give her a wink and asked if she'd had a good ride! :rotfl:
i'm sure the daugher will come round. Even if she's a bit squemish about what she saw she'll get over it. Especially if her nan's place isn't quite as much fun to live in as yours!0
