Daughter caught us having sex....

I never caught my parents at it, but i did hear them once or twice and yes it was embarrassing, but its what parents do. The sooner your DD realises that the better.
I wouldnt make a big fuss about it, tell her she had no right to burst in on you like that, and leave it at that:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
I have to say, I'm with those posters who have said that she's got a bit of a nerve complaining! If she had come home from school and found you going at it on the living room floor, then I would say that was inappropriate, but to stand outside your room waiting for you to get back to it and then barge in screaming is unacceptable. Rather than being embarassed and trying to placate her, I would ignore the rumpy part altogether and confront her over her lack of respect for your privacy and for having the nerve to complain about anything she saw as a result of her intrusion, whether it was sex or an extended laundry folding session - none of her business unless she's providing the roof over your heads!
Apart from anything, that should take the wind out of her sails - if you are apologetic and embarassed, it makes it look as though you think what you did was wrong and embarassing, which isn't really the healthy attitude towards sex I imagine you want your daughter to have. If you reinforce the rules you can make it a 'This is why it's nice for everyone to have privacy ' lesson which is the most important thing as I see it.0 -
I remember when Jem and I went to the mother-in-laws late one night..out on the street you could hear "swish, CRACK, "AAH"" etc...talk about hitting the high notes..it was hysterical.
Myself, my family and the in-laws have always been very open about it..MIL lives with her female civil partner, and they don't hide anything..toys and so on are frequently discussed and compared in front of the "kids" (now 16/18/19).
IIRC, Several years back the height of threat was to be either hung from the ceiling cuffs or be beaten with the double-ender..:rotfl:
I'm 32 now, so I guess I'm "past it". Heh.0 -
She should be happy that her parents still love each other - most kids of her age are probably running between divorced parents and dodging the new boy/girlfriend!
She is hardly going to tell her grandmother why she wants to move in with her, is she? Let her sulk and strop - it will be discussed and yukked over by her friends, they will swap similar horror stories, and then it will all blow over. I would definitely tell her though that bedrooms are private places and she will find this out for herself in a couple of years time.0 -
Play up to it, order one of those sex swings from Love honey, set it up in the living room, and get busy, if you can time it when the teenager is having friends over all the better.
I will stop now as my imagination is running into overdrive, and my ideas would put the teenager into therapy for the rest of her days.0 -

Oh gosh this has brought back vivid memories of me barging into my parents room and catching them at it, but they were doing the other thing..down there!
I pretended I didn't see as it was dark, but it put me off the sandwich I had just prepared. I'm now happy because I've tricked my brain into thinking all that stuff is behind them.
As for the dog being in the room, I have a budgie and can't even have sex with her in the room, she tries to fly on us all the time and having a budgie perched on my OH butt just doesn't do it for me, him? he's not so bothered. :rotfl:
I wouldn't worry, she'll get over it.0 -
