Don't buy one of the cheap poles you can get in argo's and the like as they are NOT designed to hold your body weight.

I have an X-pole which is used by proffesional dancers, it's £160 but worth the investment if your serious about learning, i've taught lessions and it's the one i always used to reccomend to my students. It's pretty sturdy i've never known one to break or fall down, and can do some pretty advanced moves.

It just screw's up into the cealing using pressure to keep it there and no it doens't damage the cealing, it takes about 5 mins to put up and take down dead easy once you get the hang of it.

You can get the normal one and the gold coated, the gold is supposed to be better but i've used both and tbh there really isn't much difference not worth the extra cost in my opinion.

btw the irony is not lost, yes i can dance half naked infront of a room full of men but not give my boyfriend a snog!

well maybe you just need to get in the zone then?;):D

er.... i was just joking when i said get a pole. As much as a i fantasise about 'pulling' a pole dancer, if for the first time i got to a girl's bedroom and she suddenly started showing me what she had for breakfast whilst swinging on a pole i'd probably be so scared i'd run a mile!!

Well just remember how you felt when you were dancing and go with it. Even if that means distancing yourself from your feelings for a bit.:confused:

I wish I had the nerve to ever be able do to something like that.
I am actually far too shy:o

I will say that things are going well, He is proving to be a challenge as we know Dave is somewhat like an excitable puppy with a credit card, i have him on a tight leash... but most of the time i just have to hang on and hope for the best. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Things are going really well, don't go rushing out to buy hats yet... but we are starting to plan for the long haul so concider that a good sign. :T
    Thank you Taye.
    No more information needed.
    Be happy.

You would be suprised what you will do when money is tight :o tbh most of the girls i know who dance and REALLY shy in real life, my dance teacher is a prime example she's painfully shy in real life, it's suprising what a bit of makeup, a glittery bikini and a stage name can do haha.

tbh it doens't really get me in the mood, do anything for 8 hours a day as a job and you eventually get fed up of it.

Me and my teacher used to work together and we used to laugh about it in our rest breaks we'd say if only the guys "knew" what we where really thinking about when we where doing it haha... shopping, bills, whats to have for tea.. anything really but being sexy haha.:rotfl:

tbh it really does just become another job, i never did lap dancing or stripping anything like that, my work was always clothed if you can concider a bikini clothed :rotfl: but i always good enough that i didn't need to take my clothes off to earn money.

I still do the occasional hen party(i teach) or stag do (i dance) when my teacher find's herself double booked or needs a second girl.

I also used to compeate as well havn't done it in a few years (havn't had the money) but im seriously thinking about going in for pole-diva comp this year if i can raise the cash as it's becoming a much more "legit" form of exercise ... which is great because i don't think anything i ever did was sleazy and it is a fantastic form of exercise, i used to work in mixed clubs and to be fair the women used to be far more impressed with what i did than the men.

I didnt mean to get you in the mood, I imagined that when you were up there doing it you werent *there* if you see what i mean?
i know i would have to have my mind faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away when doing it. Use that when you and Dave are getting close, so you dont think about what is about to happen and freak out;)

this is a great thread :D

my daughter's got one of the X-Poles, & it is excellent

she's living with her dad since she split up with her partner & the pole's up in his (my Ex's) kitchen

I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall when/if he brings a prospective new girlfriend home & tries to explain it away :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
