Hi Bazzani
I am confused how comes you paid £500 per card and agreed they could take the money?
I take it that since you paid them you have heard nothing?
Was this condition for Platinum service's T& C's given to you before you agreed?
Have you chased the matter and have they given you a progress report?
Can you phone your credit card company and ask what the status of the claim is as you might find that they have already paid out.
You can of course complain to the Ministry of Justice as a matter of great urgency.
Please keep us advised of what steps you have taken.

MillyI feel really stupid now... I got contacted by them aggressively back in October and I went for their speel and paid them the £149.99 upfront fee, filled in the details about ALL my bank accounts/credit cards), and returned it to them.
After looking at my details, about a week later I was offered their Platinum Service on two of my credit cards (Virgin/MBNA) that would enable them to do a "seek zero balance and closure of account" on these accounts due to unforceable agreements.
I agreed to this service (Foolishly I feel now), which cost me £500 per credit card (£1000) in total.
As far as I am aware, paying by credit card is always a good idea in case a company does not give you the service they say they will, so I am hoping that my only saving grace to get my money back from Cento will be to use this situation, but I am not sure as how to even go about that.
I did get a receipt for the £149.99, but I have not received any kind of receipt for the £1000, even though it has been taken out of my credit card.
I haven't heard anything from them in the past few days, but after reading alot of forums online, I am more keen to get all my money refunded and just pay off the credit cards on my own ASAP!
Any advice or comments would be great.milly88

Hi everyone, I feel so foolish I paid the £149 to Centro to clear my Egg loan and Barclaycard, I have now had my details used to set up a Halifax account and my account used they managed to used my card details to buy things like Sky and Wine from a online company. Luckly I am covered with my bank so had all the money (around £600) returned.
Please be warned do not be fooled by the nice girls who call you, the forms you recieve look like they are photocopys and not at all offical.0 -

OMG was this the CENTRO or a company pretending to be. If it was the CENTRO and they have used your info to defraud then they need to be reported. That is outrageous. Glad you got your money back. Are the banks chasing this company.?:mad:0 -
Hi CC
It is very important that you report this immediately to the Ministry Of Justice and explain exactly what has happened. FYI- They are called Cento Client Review.
Let us know how you get on.

This information could be useful:
After receiving an unsolicited cold-call on my mobile from Cento Client Review, I telephoned the company back on 01792 762387 (a number that seems to get straight through) and asked the operative how the company received my phone number and also why my ex-directory number was on a database. I was told that a lenders’ database of all borrowers from banks and companies was freely available legally. This, I found, is true as long as a company proves it is accessing data for legitimate business reasons.
He assumed that, as I have never borrowed, the information was given by my bank, as merely having a current account with overdraft facilities, or a credit card, qualifies people as borrowers even if they have never been in debt.
I then telephoned my bank which confirmed the above, saying that, unfortunately, all banks are obliged to divulge this information to this lenders’ database.
Next I telephoned the Government Claims Regulator, on 01283 233309, whose staff are very helpful but not of much use, that suggested writing to the company telling it to remove contact details. However the company has no obligation to do this.
The company uses many names and acts in conjunction with other such companies in Wales and Essex, but actually is:
Client Connection Ltd.
14 Maenol Glasfryn,
Llangennech,
Llanelli.
SA14 8SJ
01554 824 276 - a dummy phone that just rings and never answers.
You can Google Earth this wonderful company headquarters.
The only recourse seems to be to register all phones, (land line and mobile) with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) which you can very easily do online - Google TPS. This has worked well for me on my land line, although it doesn’t stop such calls from abroad. Once you have registered, it is a legal requirement that all organisations do not make calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so . This should restrict this kind of call. If Client Connection Ltd, or any other company, then makes nuisance calls to you, they are acting illegally, and you can tell them so, saying you're are registered with the TPS. This should do the trick as they can be fined a considerable amount for each phone call.
Unfortunately, though the behaviour of this company is vexatious, at the moment it appears to be doing no wrong legally.
Even if this company were providing a 'useful service', it is using despicable blanket cold-calling from a bought data base to promote its wares. A more reasonable approach would be to use web, TV, newspaper, flyer and poster campaigns only, and allow people the right to respond pro-actively. But of course it realises that pressure cold-calling results in potential greater income over expenditure. Just remember people, this type of company is not a charity that would have your interest at heart; I suspect it is not even acting on enlightened self-interest.0 -
i payed the 149 and was told it would take 12 weeks. I later received a call asking for 500 to be placed in a 'holding account' as they said they were 99.9% sure they could get a 0 balance on a credit card that they thought had been mis-sold. they said they would take 30% of the claim and knock the 500 paidoff that. they were very pushy to get the money but said I could gt a refund if not happy. I payed and the day after having thought about it (they had been very pushy in my lunch break) alarm bells rang and I rang them to say I wasnt happy. they reassured me that they were legit and that if they were not I could simply get my money back off the credit card. I received the priority pack 10 days after the initial payment on a friday. I wrote to them and told them I did not wish to continue and wanted a refund. I stated in the letter that I had not signed anything in the priority pack. I rang a couple of days later and they said they had not received my letter but in order to get a refund I had to return the pack which I did (this was already now more than two weeks since the payment - although my letter wasnt. I awaited refund and eventually rang them after christmas and they said they had no record of anyone speaking to me at any time - apart from the initial call and that my pack had not been returned within the two week cooling off period so I could not have a refund. It would have been impossible even if they had told me the pack had to be back within two weeks to get it there on time as it arrived so late. However I did send a cancellation letter and phoned them. I want my 500 back - payed on credit card - this is a dodgy company. Is there anything I can do please?0

hello everyone
i was contacted my this company last night had all the talk from a sales person said i wasn't interested she then passed me onto a floor manager said her stuff gave me the CRM16588 no she said they are a legit company i informed her that she was cold calling , her response was they would get a zero balance on my CC, LOANS and MORTGAGE they wanted 599 from a credit card. It seems very strange that they knew where my loans ect where from0 -
Well Ok where do we begin-
1.She glossed over the cold calling for a start very conveniently.
2. Their licence from the MOJ expires 31st Mrch 2010 - just for you to be aware.
3. They cannot possibly know where your loans were from as they are not privvy to this information, as this is all protected by the Data protection Act, if they do have access to your data then there is a big worry here.
4. I have a thread over on legal Beagles which started last March when I was contacted and since then, those who did not listen to me have paid and so far - no one has received as far as I know not one penny piece.
5. Another claims management company recently we have found to have received the refunds but have not passed anything over to their clients. So we are anxciously waiting to know if this is accross the board.
6. By the way, Cento have told peeps that I am a disgruntled ex employee - that is definately not true.
7.They will tell you anything which sounds good to make the sale. At the time they called me it was only £49.99 and not £599 which is a hell of a lot of money.
8. They tell prospective clients that they have solicitors working on the cases. This so far we have found not to be true so dont be taken in by them.
9. The MOJ also do not recomend paying upfron fees to CMC companies.
10. The MOJ as part of the conditions for holding the licence are not allowed to cold call you unless you asked that they call you.
I hope I have given you an insight into this company.
