I have removed this plea for help and advice as some people are hell bent on giving opinions on something they clearly know nothing about.

I have thanked the people that have helped and do appreciate it just cannot listen to anymore from chippy minton etc.

Hi sane01 and welcome to MSE :hello:

I'm a little confused your your description of the accident. Perhaps you could help clarify.

    1. Which exact part of the Ford Ranger made contact with which exact part of your vehicle?
    2. Was it a head on collision?
    3. Was either vehicle stationary at the time of impact? If so which one?
    4. You say the other vehicle had good viability, at least at the top of the driveway, and had partial visibility of you as you as he drove down the driveway. Yet you claim you only had visibility "up to a point". Surely the visibility of the drivers of both vehicles was the same wasn't it? Or could you explain how the other driver had better visibility of you compared to you of him.
    5. As you accept you had visibility "up to a point" of the other vehicle coming down your driveway, why didn't you stop and wait for him to safely pass you?
    6. You say "he was coming down my drive without due care and attention". Has that been proved in a court or is that just your impression? Unless it's been proven, it really is of little relevance.
    7. The fact the driver had not driven on that road before is of no relevance.
    8. Have you, as a customer of Royal Mail, contacted Royal Mail to ensure that the safety & well being of their employee was not adversely affected by the collision? Then why should Royal Mail contact you?
This is an accident involving you and the driver. I'm sure when the driver stopped following the collision he asked if you were ok.

From what you say i think you should have had the police at the accident. And to add to what Premier has asked was this a public or private road?

You will be able to talk to one of the ambulanced chasing solicitors and that will probably be the best way forward but don't be surprised if they turn you down which will mean they don't reckon you have a case.

Also and this is my main point which I am going to have to rant about as no one seems to care, he was coming down my drive without due care and attention in a very large pickup

And you were going up your drive in the same way.

    Like you said 50/50.:p

I suspect you will be correct unless OP was either stationary (hard to prove) or pulled wll over (again hard to prove).

Actually he was at the top of a very big hill meaning he had much better visiability, I could see my house but not the post van as he left from behind my house after I had visibility. I have actually enquired to the well being of the post man. It was a head on collision, I had just about stopped, he was going far to fast which is why he collided with me.

Does anyone actually get that it could have been my children that got hit by someone driving too fast or are we all just interested in Legalities.

Oh and by the way sorry for breathing and having an opinion.

Some people are very rude and picky.

    but they didnt.

would you like him to be charged for potentially knocking down you and your children?

im sure if you were out walking with your kids then you would have heard the vehicle coming and would have moved to the side of the road just incase the oncoming vehicle was going to fast.

You know actually had I been dropping my child off on to the bus at the bottom of the road, I probably would not have heard him coming as the school bus is very noisy and no I don't want him charged but what I would like is Postal Workers not to be so harrassed by there line managers at getting back on time they could potentially kill someone as much for me and the general public as them.

You know I remember a time when you came onto this site and people were helpful, they listened and if they had something constructive to say they did, they didn't !!!!!, I wondered what has happened to all those polite, sincere people. Maybe caught up with all this money saving and don't really care or listen.

    Shame really!

ive replied to your PM .

so what does your child potentially being run over have to do with saving money, you came on here asking for advise about your accident, not a fictional one that hasnt happened. so what do you want people to say?

its an outrage, a disgrace, a speeding royal mail van? never in my life have i seen such a thing! boycott the postal office and royal mail!

    any better? :p

Please grow up, I have PM you and explained to you and still you are behaving like a child.

You are right I asked for advice on an accident and then did say I was having a rant at the possibilities that could have happened.

I have some advice for you a)Take a deep breath b) Think about what you are saying c) If it is not constructive then KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.

I did say to you it was not a legal issue about the pressure postal workers are put under but more of a moral one and what the pressure could cause.

Behave yourself Gold person and grow up.
